Visit 1.1: Using a PowerPoint presentation, students will identify, demonstrate, and explain computer lab rules and procedures. Given login cards with the student name, username, and password and teacher help, students will be able to log onto the district network within the AUP guidelines.
Visit 1.2: Given login cards with the student name, username, and password and teacher help, students will be able to log onto the district network and TechKnowledge within the AUP guidelines.
Visit 1.3: Given login cards with usernames and passwords, students will be able to log onto the district network and TechKnowledge, locate and complete Unit 1 lesson 1 independently. Students will review computer basics together and identify parts of the computer independently. Using Kid Keys’ Royal Mouse Chase, students will practice moving the mouse and clicking the left mouse button with the right pointer finger.

Visit 1.5: Using TechKnowledge, students will identify and use the arrow keys on the keyboard and the scroll bar, use the mouse to open and close a file, and use the mouse to open and close a program.

Visit 2.2: Using TechKnowledge, students will identify the purpose and use of the keyboard. Using TechKnowledge, students will identify, locate, and key the letters MNOPQR and STUVWXYZ and the Numbers 0-9. Using TechKnowledge, students will identify capital letters only and will not need to use the Shift key.

Visit 2.3: Using TechKnowledge, students will use the left hand to hold down the shift key, the right hand to tap the symbol keys, and release both keys. Students will practice the motor movements using their pretend keyboard (floor) and identify proper home row key position.

Visit 2.4: Using TechKnowledge, students will locate the space bar and enter keys, use the side of the right thumb to tap the space bar key, and use the right pinky to tap the enter key.

Visit 2.6: Using TechKnowledge, students will key simple words using home row keys with one space in between each word. Using TechKnowledge, students will identify, locate, and key letters using the keyboard through the Unit 2 Performance Assessment.

Visit 3.1: Students will model independent learning by reviewing previously incomplete lessons from Units 1 and 2.
Visit 3.2: Using TechKnowledge, students will identify the purpose of using a word processing program. Students will use the mouse and keyboard to move the cursor within lines of text and key lines of text using the keyboard in MSWord 2007.

Visit 3.4: Using TechKnowledge, students will type letters and words until Word Wrap creates new lines within MSWord 2007. Students will use the delete and backspace keys to delete text in MSWord 2007. Students will use the shift, space bar, backspace, delete, and enter keys to type and edit lines of text in MSWord 2007.
