"With over 300,000 apps from which to choose, how does one find useful, well-designed, really great apps with which to learn and to teach? If you have an iPad and have begun using it in your classroom, you already know how apps for the iPad transform a fantastic mobile device into a miraculous learning machine. Many of the apps that can be found in the iTunes store are free.

3D Brain - Interact with 29 structures of the brain to learn the associated functions, disorders, brain damage, case studies, and links to contemporary research.
Converts Units HD - Regardless of your occupation, chances are that you will need to convert temperature, area, or some other unit. The Convert Units app has thirteen ready-to-go categories with conversions and the ability to create a personal one. Categories include angle, area, data, energy, force, length mass, power, pressure, speed, temperature, time and volume.
Earth Observer - Explore the ocean floor, terrestrial landscapes, frozen icecaps, as well as many other exciting places on our Earth with the Earth Observer app. Images collected from satellites and research ships feature world and north/south pole views. Greek Mythology- Contains 25 important Greek Mythological figures; the full version contains over 600 gods, heroes, places, demogods and titans.
Molecules - View and manipulate 3D renderings of molecules with this app. Move your fingers across the screen to rotate the molecules. Pinch the screen with two fingers to zoom in and out on the molecule. Detailed information about the molecule, the researchers, the amino acid or nucleotide sequence, and the full name can be viewed. Double tap on the screen to switch to different visualization modes.
World Book- This Day in History for iPad - Interactive multimedia app displaying events occurring on the current day or any selected day in history.
Science Glossary - Bilingual (English/Spanish) glossary that includes definitions of many scientific terms, as well as mini-biographies of key scientific leaders.
