7th Grade / School Life Act Out Project

Introduction: This is a group project. In a group you are going to create a “story” about school, and you need to act it out.

  1. (5 points) 3-4 people in one group, no exception.

  2. (5 points)You need to use at least 15 new words in unit 4 and 5 into your story. You need to underline them in your script.

  3. (10 points) (Vocabulary and Structure, Fluency, Pronunciation)Everyone has to talk when acting out, you can play one of the roles, or you can be a narrator. Everyone should have about equal amount of talking. Everything should be memorized when acting out.

  4. (5 points)You need to create your own props (at least 5 props), drawings are recommended, you may use real items such as books, or pens, but one kind of item is considered as one prop, (e.g. you can’t use five books as five props), real food/drinks are not allowed. You are given some of class time to work on this, see timeline.

  5. (10 points)Your entire story should be no less than 250 characters (repeated sentences will only count as once). You may use English but it will not count toward the 250 characters, and you are not allowed to use any English words that we have learned in Mandarin.

  6. (3 points) Your entire story should be between 4-6 minutes when acting out.

  7. (7 points) Typing accuracy: Please check your grammar and words after you finish typing in case you choose the wrong characters.

Due dates:

Group and Topic (5points) : Feb. 20th/21st

Draft of Script (10 points): Feb 27/28

0.5 point extra credit per school day that you turn in early.

You need to

  1. Have the whole story typed up and also

  2. List what props you will use for your story.

  3. Underline new words you choose to use from Unit4 and 5.

  4. It is OK to email me the draft.

  5. Make sure you get the draft back at the SAME DAY that you turned in.

Final Script: March 5th/6th (35 points)

  1. Attach the graded draft

  2. All errors are corrected.

  3. Includes everything that is stated for the draft.

Presentation (80 points): March 5th/6th

You need to memorize everything for your story acting; you are not allowed to from read paper.


You are given most of the classes’ time to work on the project; however, you are expected to practice your project outside of the classroom with your group. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to contact your group mate about the project. (Laptops: Feb. 23-28)

    1. Feb. 20th/21st : 30 minutes: group selection and topic chosen

    2. Feb. 22nd/23rd: 45 minutes: scripts written out and typed up.

    3. Feb. 27th/28th: 45 minutes: finished scripts, typed up, and turn in. If you are done early, please practice.

    4. Feb. 29th/March 1st:20 minutes: practice.

    5. March 5th/6th: Presentation and final script due.

DO NOT WAIT UNITL THE LAST MINUTE TO ASK QUESTIONS………NO EXCUSES, EMAIL ALWAYS WORK(don’t forget you have your group mates if your email isn’t working)!!!
