Agfa Graphics to Feature New Jeti Mira True Flatbed UV-Printer at FESPA 2015

Mortsel, Belgium – May 11, 2015

  • 6-color and white UV-inkjet flatbed printer with optional varnish or primer

  • Moving-gantry architecture with split-vacuum table for impressive colors and versatility

  • Dockable roll-to-roll option enables printing on a wide variety of flexible media

The new Jeti Mira will feature at the Agfa Graphics stand at FESPA 2015. The Jeti Mira, a 6-color and white UV-inkjet true flatbed printing system with optional varnish or primer, is one of Agfa Graphics’ newest UV-inkjet solutions.

"The Jeti Mira is a true flatbed device, ideal for applications ranging from posters, signage, exhibit graphics and POP displays to niche applications such as DVDs, wood, art reproductions, personalized objects and more," said Dominiek Arnout, Vice President Inkjet, Agfa Graphics. "Our ‘thin ink layer’ technology offers the lowest ink consumption per square meter in the industry. It results in extremely vivid color at lower costs."

The Jeti Mira is available in two table models: the Jeti Mira MG 2716 (2.69 m x 1.6 m) and the Jeti Mira MG 2732 (2.69 m x 3.2 m). The Jeti Mira’s moving-gantry architecture is specifically designed for optimal printing flexibility on a variety of different media. The 'Print and Prepare' mode enables loading media on one side of the table while the other side is printing; this versatile system makes the Jeti Mira perfect for small boards or objects as well as for double-sided printing applications.

Jeti Mira can also accommodate a dockable roll-to-roll system, which attaches directly in front of the flatbed table with the gantry transported right over it.

There are two print head configurations: while the Jeti Mira S is equipped with one row of the latest generation of Ricoh Gen5 print heads, the Jeti Mira HS has two rows for even greater productivity. Maximum speeds are 103 m²/hr for the Jeti Mira S and 206 m²/hr for the Jeti Mira HS.

The Jeti Mira’s six vacuum zones protect against curling and skewing, so that media stay perfectly flat during printing. Registration pins on every corner guarantee precise substrate positioning, even during double-sided printing or on imperfectly cut media.

The Jeti Mira is driven by the Asanti workflow software, which takes control of the entire process, from prepress to production through finishing. Asanti’s comprehensive integration of file handling, color management and preflighting raise the efficiency of the complete system with fewer errors and reduced time loss. Asanti is completed by Asanti StoreFront, Agfa Graphics' web-to-print solution that enables management of online stores and automatic processing of print orders.

The Jeti Mira and many other solutions from Agfa Graphics will be in Hall 6, Booth S60 at FESPA 2015 (18-22 May, Cologne, Germany). For more information, click here.
