COURSE DESCRIPTION

Comprehension C is designed to teach students to work independently. They can decode, make inferences, and respond to specific instructions. The skills taught are divided into five principal areas: Organizing Information, Operating on Information, Using sources of Information, Communicating Information, and Using Information for Directions.
COURSE OBJECTIVES

Organizing Information


  • Identify the main idea of a passage

  • Rewrite a sentence to become more general


Operating on Information


Using Information for Direction

  • Write step-by-step direction

  • Fill out a variety of forms


Using Sources of Information


Communicating Information
  • Combines pairs of sentences using specific words


  • Identifies the redundant part of a sentence

  • Determine meaning from context

DISCIPLINE PROCEDURE

The students will follow the AIJMS School Wide Behavior Expectations:

  • Be prepared

  • Be focused and stay on task at all times


CONSEQUENCES

    1. Verbal warning

    2. Phone call to parent/guardian
    3. Conference with parent/guardian


    4. Four minor offenses will result in a referral to the discipline office.

    5. All major offenses will result in immediate referral to the discipline office as per school wide policy.

S= satisfactory

N= needs improvement

U= unsatisfactory
