A special meeting of the Board of Studies of the Department of Modern Indian Languages held on 22.08. 2013 at 11.30 A.M. in the Chamber of the Chairman.

Item. II. Allocated the teaching work in various courses for the session 2010-2011

Chairman has been authorized to make necessary changes in consultation with the concerned subject in the allocation as per the requirement of the department.Appendix-I


Item. III. Approved the syllabus of the B.A Semester courses in various languages and MA Malayalam course. Appendix-II

Item. IV. Approved the course work syllabus of Tamil & Kashmiri and the panel of examiners of Tamil and Kashmiri approved.Appendix-III

Note: Dr. M.A. Zargar pointed out that the research methodology paper of the

Research scholar was not taught in the center. Since the CCILSC is merged with Modern Indian Languages and the supervisor and research scholar is attached to the department of MIL, the Board of studies assigned the research methodology paper to Dr. M.A. Zargar, the supervisor.


Item. V. Agreed to organize National seminar during the academic year and authorized the chairman to take the necessary action to fix the date , title and the conduct of the seminar.

Item. VI. Under any other item the following resolutions were passed.


  1. The vacant teaching posts of Assistant Professors should be filled up . As per the requirement of the Bengali section one visiting professor may be appointed in Bengali.




  1. To attract more students in part time courses in Certificate /Diploma courses in the department of Modern Indian Languages, the enhanced fee may be fixed as it was.

This paper has been designed to acquaint with the requirements, objectives, type and scope of formal research in Tamil studies. It also aims at providing guidance to researchers in connection with necessary materials and the use of proper technique and organizing the thesis and presenting the results in a scientific manner.
