Boys and Girls Club of Silicon Valley

Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley, The Positive Place for Kids, is looking for volunteers for our after school and summer program. We provide fun and educational programs, for ages 6 – 18. Our core areas include: Art and Cultural Enrichment, Character and Leadership Development, Health and Life Skills, Sports, Fitness, Recreation and Technology.

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula – Menlo Park

Digital Media Arts Assistant

Assist in workshops that educate youth on programming using Arduino and processing languages. Assist in developing and executing art projects using electronic components. It’s a 6-week Summer Program; June 21 – July 30. Volunteer needed either Monday mornings from 10:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. or Thursday afternoons from 4:30 p.m.-7 p.m. and/or Friday evenings 4 p.m. – 7p.m.

Graphic Design Arts Educational Assistant

Volunteers will assist in training youth on Adobe graphic design production software (Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design and After effects). Also assist in supporting development and execution of youth work and with publicity of student work. It’s a 6-week Summer Program; June 21 – July 30. Volunteer needed either Tuesday mornings and/or afternoons 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. or 2-3:30 p.m.

Video Production Educational Assistant

Volunteers will assist in training youth on video production equipment (HD camera, tripod, external mic, flash recorder). Assist in supporting development and execution of youth video productions and with publicity and outreach of student films. It is a 6-week Summer program; June 21 – July 30. Volunteer needed either Wednesday evenings from 4:30-7 p.m. or Thursday evenings from 4:30-7p.m.

Woven Arts Assistant

The Volunteer will assist in instructing knitting, sewing, crochet at embroidery workshops and in pattern making. It is a 6-week Summer Program; June 21-July 30. Volunteer needed either Monday mornings from 10:30 – 1 p.m. or Friday mornings 10:30 – 1 p.m.

Summer Camp Counselor

The summer program will run from June 14th to July 30th. The half-day program (math, science, reading, and sports) lasts from 8AM-1PM, Monday through Friday. Instructors who cannot commit to the half-day program can opt for the Math Only option, from 8AM-11AM.

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula– James Flood School Summer Academy Counselor

Lead a group of 15 to 20 students in CNG's summer academy, which will provide students in grades 4 through 8 with math and science enrichment as well as electives including various arts, Youth Community Service, and High School Prep. Program runs from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. from Monday – Friday June 28th –July 30th.

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula – Redwood City Clubhouse Jr. Giants Baseball Coach

Practicing baseball with a team of 7 - 10 year-olds three weeks prior to the league and motivating them throughout the season. In this league, the score is not kept and a pitching machine is used. One of the biggest duties is to make this a fun and enriching experience for our young, budding baseball players.

Building Skills Partnership

Building Skills Partnership is recruiting ESL Teaching Aides, Computer Teachers and Tutors and Administrative Volunteers.  Volunteers must be dependable, have a commitment to social justice and a respect of other cultures. Spanish speaking skills and teaching experience is helpful, but not required.

California Community Partners for Youth

Provide community-based youth mentoring and life skills development focused on at-risk, under-performing and low-income youth in San Jose.  CCPY's goal is to develop a self-sufficient network of integrated programs supported by schools, parents, teachers, mentors and community resources. Serve at Yerba Buena HS or other schools in Eastside Unified School district. Also needs youth training in technology.

Camp Campbell Outdoor Science School (YMCA Program)

You can volunteer as a cabin leader.  Commit to volunteering one or more M-F week anytime throughout the school year to mentoring fifth- and six-grade students in an outdoor-ed program. Our program is residential meaning that you stay in cabin with the kids for the week. Includes a full day of training.
