Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen is a nonprofit organization that provides no-cost hot meals and support services to anyone who needs them in a safe, caring and friendly environment. No one is turned away. As a volunteer at Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen, you will help to set up our dining room for dinner, prepare and serve the meal, and clean up afterward. Partners in Reading(PAR)
Partners in Reading is an adult literacy program of the San Jose Public Library. We match volunteer tutors with adults who read or write below the 9th grade level. Adults meet twice a week with a tutor for 1 ½ hours each meeting. We also have a computer lab and short-term and ongoing classes. Service learning opportunities include tutoring (6-month minimum commitment) and we could also use volunteers/interns to teach short-term classes, assist in the computer lab, and help in the office.
Serve in Domestic Violence Limited Scope Representation program, the Family Law Clinic; bilingual speakers needed to serve as translators for non-English speaking clients, and assist in outreach and education to the community regarding free legal services.
