Law Foundation of Silicon Valley

Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen

Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen is a nonprofit organization that provides no-cost hot meals and support services to anyone who needs them in a safe, caring and friendly environment.  No one is turned away.  As a volunteer at Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen, you will help to set up our dining room for dinner, prepare and serve the meal, and clean up afterward.  We proudly serve our guests at two different kitchen locations in San Jose nearby St. Patrick’s or St. Maria Goretti Kitchen.

MACSA – Mexican American Community Service Association

Martha’s Kitchen

This year, Martha's Kitchen will serve over 200,000 meals to needy the men, women and children of the San Jose area. Special provisions are made to meet the needs of families with children. Round tables are provided so family members can dine as a family unit.

Neighborhood Housing Services Silicon Valley( NHSSV)

NHSSV is a housing and community development nonprofit corporation that works to improve the living environment of low income families in the counties of Santa Clara and Monterrey. Our City Forest (OCF)

Cultivates a greener, healthier metropolis and a sense of community by involving Silicon Valley residents in the understanding, planting, care, and appreciation of the urban forest. Partners in Reading(PAR)

Partners in Reading is an adult literacy program of the San Jose Public Library. We match volunteer tutors with adults who read or write below the 9th grade level. Adults meet twice a week with a tutor for 1 ½ hours each meeting. We also have a computer lab and short-term and ongoing classes. Service learning opportunities include tutoring (6-month minimum commitment) and we could also use volunteers/interns to teach short-term classes, assist in the computer lab, and help in the office.

Pro Bono Project for Silicon Valley

Serve in Domestic Violence Limited Scope Representation program, the Family Law Clinic; bilingual speakers needed to serve as translators for non-English speaking clients, and assist in outreach and education to the community regarding free legal services.
