Audition Information

Auditions Tuesday, January 17, 3:00-6:00 pm

Wednesday, January 18, 3:00-6:00 pm
Callbacks Wednesday, January 25, 3:00-6:00 pm
Rehearsals every Wednesday, 5:00-8:00 pm

every other Sunday, 2:00-6:00 pm

Auditions: Attend either the Tuesday, January 17 OR Wednesday, January 18 auditions. Sing a verse and a chorus from a song of your choice, which best shows off your voice. (Audition songs MUST be from a Broadway musical, Disney cartoon or church song; No pop versions) Be prepared to learn and perform a short dance routine. Wear clothes and shoes appropriate for dancing. You must complete both parts of the audition.
Callbacks: Students on callback list need to pick up a copy of the callback song in the auditorium. Sing the callback song and be prepared to perform the audition dance combination. Callbacks will be on Wednesday, January 25.

Rehearsals: You must be able to attend rehearsals in order to participate in this production. Rehearsals are every other Wednesday, every other Sunday and every other Tuesday beginning January 29. Specific rehearsal dates can be seen at under Performing Arts, Audition Information. Missed rehearsals will result in you being dropped from the show. You must call if you are going to be late.

Show Dates: You must be able to attend all performance dates in order to participate in this production.

All participants must:

  1. Maintain a 2.0 grade point average, with no more than 1 Fail.

  2. Sell at least 20 tickets at $8 each.

  3. Be on time for rehearsal.

  4. Attend all rehearsals and performances.

  5. Help with finding costumes and building sets.

  6. Be respectful, cooperative and willing to learn.

Best of Broadway 2017 explores musicals showcasing different regions around the United States.


Set in New York, this musical tells the story of founding father Alexander Hamilton, a bastard orphan who immigrated to America. With his fierce patriotism and willing perseverance, he rises through the military and political ranks, becoming an indispensable ally for some of America’s most renowned early heroes. His story includes the young nation’s first sex scandal and a long-time rivalry with Aaron Burr, all en route to his becoming head of the nation’s Treasury.

Set in Oklahoma Territory in 1906, this musical tells the story of Laurey, a headstrong farm girl with whom both cowboy Curly and farm hand Jud have fallen in love. When she plays hard-to-get with earnest Curly and instead accepts dangerous Jud’s invitation to the upcoming box social, tensions rise between the men and capture the interest of the whole town.

Set in 1950s Tennessee, Memphis tells the story of Huey Calhoun, a ‘n roll loving white man who promises to get local black singer Felicia on the radio. When Huey finally gets an opportunity, he becomes an immensely popular DJ who plays rock ‘n roll- by artists of any color- and gets Felicia on the radio as promised, beginning a romance with her. As the talented Huey and Felicia continue their careers, they encounter prejudices that challenge them to consider their priorities and fight for their dreams.
