Both programmes have the following conjunctive elements:

The contents of studies, methods of evaluation and grading are similar in both Study programmes (in spite of differences in titles of study courses).

Mandatory part A contains obligatory study courses – theoretical foundation for the higher education in art. Besides general humanities in the Mandatory part A several courses on religion, Christian theology and specific courses on interdisciplinarity of art and theology have been included at the LChrA. The acquisition of sacral art without those courses wouldn’t be possible.

Mandatory-elective part B contains courses ensuring basic knowledge for practice and defines the direction of specialization.

Both Study programmes offer relatively small Elective part C.

Summer practice (plainair) in outing basis takes important place in both Study programmes.

Differences:

LAA has more voluminous set of professional, practical and speciality courses, more diverse courses in speciality but less theoretical courses. LChrA in its turn offers more academic courses for acquisition of sacral art - in theology, religious studies, the whole set of Methodology courses in theology and religious studies.

The Study programme at the Latvian Christian academy unlike the Programme at the Latvian Academy of art is structured according to the modular system.
