Aladdin is the story of a young peasant boy who wanted a better life for himself. Along the way he meets with some interesting characters. The most interesting of these characters is a young lady called Jasmine. With the help of a magic lamp he finds a genie. Aladdin’s dream comes true.
Show a picture or drawing of a lamp similar to the one in the story. Ask the student to identify it. Ask them to rub it several times. “Today we will read about Aladdin. We will read and see what happens when he rubs a lamp.”
Show a picture of a genie or copy a picture of the genie out of the book and color it. Ask the children what a genie is. Ask if they think genies are real. “There is a genie in our story today. Let’s read and find out what wonderful things he can do.”
