This is an introduction to ballet: vocabulary, beginner steps, stretches, and musical awareness. We will work on taking turns, sharing, listening to instructions/directions, and interacting with other students. Students will need leotards, tights, and skirt. They also need ballet slippers. House shoes from Wal-Mart will not work. The teacher has a dance supply store in Cullman and may bring discounted slippers to the first class if anyone is interested. A list of shoe sizes would help. There will be no homework. You can take this class again if you have already taken it.

The fee is per semester.

Beginning Baton

Need Adult Head Teacher
*Adria Latta, student instructor

With the help of the adult leaders, Adria Latta will be instructing the students on how to twirl.  Adria has been twirling on Competition teams for 5 years with Southern starlets in Cullman.  She also placed first in her division in one baton solo at Nationals in July 2012. Her dance team placed 2nd in the nation.  Adria will be starting at basic tricks and working her way up to more advanced tricks, rolls and tosses.  This review will help all girls be at the same starting place.  The girls will learn a routine to perform at the end of the school year. The girls will need to supply their own baton. These can be purchased at Emiron Music in Decatur. Batons should be the length of the students arm from the pit of the arm to just past the fingertips. The larger tip/ball of the baton should be past their fingertips to allow room for growth.  If you have questions, email llatta1601@charter.net
