Full Name: Dr. Md. Aleemullah

Pen-name: Mohammad Aleem

Educational qualification: M.A (English and Hindi), PhD in Hindi, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.

Winner of many national level awards like Sanskriti Award for Literature, Urdu Academy, Delhi Award, Navodit Lekhak Puraskar by Hindi Academy, Delhi and National Junior Fellowship Award by Ministry of Culture, Government of India. He has many books to his credit, to name a few, Mere Nalon Ki Ghumshudah Awaz (a novel in Urdu and Hindi by Penguin Books, India, 2008).

He has also written extensively for TV and Radio, and attended many national level literary seminars.

This book, Through All Joys and Sorrows (a literary novel) is the first original work in English. It is going to be published very soon by Lifipublications, New Delhi.

  3. JO AMAAN MILI TO KAHAN MILI (1998, PP-): A novel in Urdu and Hindi. It was published by Ilmo-Adab Publication, New Delhi; in 1998. The Hindi edition was published by Radha Krishna Prakashan, New Delhi in 2004. The novel received rave reviews and acclaimed critical notice in the literary sphere. The novel got the coveted Sanskriti Award and book of the year award from Urdu Academy Delhi in 1998. DD Urdu has commissioned a serial of 13 episodes based on this novel.


  4. MERE NAALON KI GUMSHUDA AAWAZ (2007, PP-): A novel in Urdu and Hindi. Published by PENGUIN BOOKS INDIA, 2007.2008, reprinted in 2010, DD Urdu has commissioned a serial of 13 episodes based on it. A Feature Film is going to be made based on this novel also.

  5. Rabia: A play in Urdu, was awarded All India Drama Competition Award by Urdu Academy Delhi in 1994. ETV Urdu had produced one hour film on it in 1998 and DD Urdu has commissioned a serial of 13 episodes based on it.

  7. ADAMKHOR: A plays in Hindi and was published in Hindi literary journal Vartaman Sahitya, 1990.

  9. BUDHA FAQIR, EKTA KA PUL: Story books in Hindi and Urdu for neo-literates and published by National Book Trust, India.1992, 2003. Ninth reprints have come out since then and more than three lakhs copies have been sold so far in six Indian languages.

  4. Mussawari Ke Rang- A serial in 13 episodes on the history of Indian paintings and its some of the great painters like Rabinder Nath Tagore, M.F Husain, SM Reza etc. for DD Urdu, 2013. DD Urdu has recently commissioned 19 serials(each of 13 episodes both fiction and non-fiction) written by me.

  5. HINDI HAIN HUMWATAN HAIN: for All India Radio under commissioned category-2012(seven episodes).

  6. KAPTAN KI BETI, MANZILON KA SAFAR for All India Radio, Serial in 13 parts based on Pushkin and Gorky novels) 2005.

  7. CLASSIC STORIES OF HINDI: A serial in 13 parts, adopted some stories 2004. It was produced by All India Radio drama division.

  8. KAHAN AA GAYE HUM: A serial in 52 episodes for AIR on environmental issues, wrote some episodes 1997. Shabana Azmi had lent her voice as an anchor in some of the episodes.

  9. ITIHAS KA WOH EK PAL, YEH KAB SOCHA THA, KAHI ANKAHI: Radio plays for all India Radio.

  10. Contributed many short stories and articles for National Channel All India Radio, especially for Urdu program, Manzar.

  11. Wrote about fifteen radio scripts for CIET, NCERT, and New Delhi.

Attended many national writers' workshops organized by UNESCO, UNICEF, NATIONAL BOOK TRUST, NATIONAL LITERACY MISSION, MINISTRY OF H.R.D, STATE RESOURCE CENTRE, JAMIA MILLIA ISLAMIA from time to time.
