During investigation, it was found that both the deceased were strangulated and a sum of about Rs.2.5 lacs, some documents & jewellery were found missing from the house. A case vide FIR No. 422/12 u/s 302/392/397 IPC PS Subash Place was registered in this regard and investigation was taken up.

Looking at the gravity of the case, two dedicated teams of special staff North- West Distt and P.S. Subhash Place were constituted. The teams so constituted worked hard relentlessly and conducted raids at various places at Delhi, Haryana and in U.P. and they have also activated their informers.

During the course of investigation, it has come to light that the entry in the house was friendly. Investigation of this case has been started keeping in view of both angles i.e. enmity and robbery with murder. Hence, local criminals having previous similar modus operandi were verified and apart from that family members & relatives of the deceased were called up for interrogation and it was established that the deceased Satpal Garg had a tiff in the recent past with his brother-in-law Pawan Jindal over property.

On this information Pawan was interrogated initially and he has taken plea that on the day of incident, he was in Narwana, Distt. Jind. However, not satisfied with his reply, he was interrogated again and again. During further investigation, role of two persons namely Chandveer @ Chand & Vikram Dalal @ Billu came to notice. And when they were called, they didn’t turn up and absconded. On this, intensive search of both suspects were made. During this exercise, one more person was figured out with whom suspect Vikram was in touch just a few days before the date of incident. The suspect was identified as Sandeep Kumar @ Sonu S/o Sh. Dharam Singh R/o H. No 45, village Mehrana, Distt. Jhajjar (HR). After that he was interrogated in depth and on sustained interrogation he broke down and disclosed that he alongwith Vikram Dalal @ Billu & Chandveer @ Chand has murdered Sat Pal and Ramkali & ransacked the house. Further he disclosed that they had committed the crime as per the conspiracy planned by Pawan, who hired them for Rs. 1,00,000/- through Vikram & Chandveer @ Chand for committing the crime.

On that, Pawan was apprehended who also broke down when he was confronted with Sandeep Kumar and disclosed that he had come to Delhi 15-16 years back & started residing at the property of deceased Satpal Garg at Aman Vihar and started a stall of firewood and dealership in property on the plot of land of deceased. But it was got vacated by the deceased in the month of July-2012. On this, Pawan became revengeful and conspired with Chandveer @ Chand to eleminate his own brother-in-law to grab his property. For this purpose Chandveer @ Chand and Pawan roped in Vikram @ Billu and Sandeep @ Sonu. Both the accused persons have been arrested and further investigation is in progress.
