Appropriate self-initiated, group-initiated and staff-initiated activities, intellectually stimulating and fostering self-reliance & social responsibility.
At the heart of the Bright Start program for toddlers and preschoolers is a whole-hearted respect for children and belief in their abilities. Important elements of our programs are:
Carefully prepared learning environments, which offer children genuine choices and opportunities for exploration and discovery.
Teacher planned activities which are based not only on traditional nursery school themes but also on special interests of children and parents.
A curriculum designed to facilitate the development of general cognitive skills, as well as specific skills in language, mathematical reasoning, science, art, music and fine and gross motor abilities.
The involvement of parents and other family members, who share their interests and talents with children.
9:00 AM to noon each day is called "Block Time" at the Bright Start, and is a very important part of our daily schedule.
This is our structured activity time, and includes circle time, indoor learning centers, arts and crafts, music, and outdoor exploration and play.
It's also our time to have fun with community resources such as field trips, visit to local library and to experience special visitors and events.
Because of this, we require that all children registered for morning hours in either the toddler or preschool program arrive by 9:00 AM and depart no earlier than noon.
Blocktime hours add structure and continuity to the child's day, and adherence to this policy is important.
Outdoor : Play Ground Activities or Nature’s Walk
Bright Start plan to give our children ample opportunity to explore and experience nature and have access to outdoor activity.
Children at Bright Start will not be confined into one same place all day long.
We will take children out for natures walk in the community or in the park for them to see and hear birds, plants and various botanic flowers.
To ensure the safety of all our children, we will adhere to following plan.
Before embarking on any outdoor activity, we will encourage children and staff members to use bathroom before leaving.
Headcount of the children will be conducted and reconcile with the attendance record.
Note: No more than two (2) groups (classes) go for Outdoor/Nature walk at a time. The groups/classes that remain in the center will follow the scheduled outline.
Outdoor: Play ground activities or Nature’s walk.Toddler Program:
The toddler program at the Bright Start is designed to offer young children a loving and educational, hands-on school experience.
Our goal is to create and environment where toddlers can use all five senses in activities which encourage the child to discover, explore, share and learn.
The toddlers' ever expanding world is full of wonder and our toddler program is designed to provide the child with timeand freedom to move, question, explore and discover himself/herself as a capable and competent individual.
The preschool program at the Bright Start is a mixed-age program designed to empower three, four and five year-old students.
Hands-on activities, planned around children’s interests, nourish self-esteem and stimulate a love of learning.
Our preschool classroom is a busy place where children have opportunities to problem solving, experiment and explore while gaining skills in language, mathematical reasoning, science, art and music.
We feel that a mixed-age program offers children "the best of both worlds". We give children opportunities to participate in activities with those of different ages, so that younger children can learn from older peers, and older children have chances to develop into leaders and mentors.
We also have times of day when children are grouped according to age, so that we can meet learning needs with activities specifically designed for differing attention spans and developmental levels.
Preschool Daily Schedule:
6:30 am to 8:30 am
Arrival, Indoor free choice activities (puzzles, play dough, house keeping, art table, blocks, etc.)
