Purpose:  Write and illustrate a story book about food traveling through the digestive system.

Procedure: You must work individually to create your storyline and illustrations based on one of the following prompts:

Prompt 1: A young child you know has asked you where his food goes once he swallows it. Write a story for this child in which you explain how the digestive system works. Use a tone that would catch the attention of this child.

Prompt 2: You are sitting in class and chewing the top of your pen while you are reading. All of a sudden, a loud announcement comes on, startling you and causing you to swallow the top. Write a creative story in which you explain how nature takes its course.

Prompt 3: Come up with your own idea and clear it with Mrs. Pryor (Some additional ideas might be bedtime stories, fairy tales, or an advice column, movie, or a game).

A checklist of items used to assess your project can be found on the back of this page. You must turn this in to earn a grade, so don’t lose this paper!
