Moreh:

A prominent tourist place of Manipur, Moreh falls under the Chandel district. Known as one of the border towns, Moreh is situated at a distance of 70 km away from Chandel and 110 km from Imphal. The Indo-Myanmar road passes through Moreh.

Since Moreh is placed on the border areas hence one can also get a glimpse of Myanmar from here. Moreh is also visited by many businessmen. This is because along with its touristy appeal Moreh is also a commercially independent place.
In recent times the business tours to Moreh have increased many manifolds due to the liberalization of the open border trade policies. Being a significant part of north-east India, Moreh is counted as one of the thriving business hubs.
Right on the other side of the border, at Namphanglong, there is a big Myanmarese shopping complex selling all kinds of Thai and Chinese consumer goods.

Conducted Tours are organised from Moreh in Manipur to Myanmarese towns like Kalimiew and Mandlay.

Developmental Proposals:

Since the India-Myanmar-Thailand road proposal is under way it is expected that Moreh would develop into a big border town in Manipur with large number of trade centres.
