An E.C.G is a record of the electrical activity of the heart muscles.
You will be asked to lie on the bed.
10 small stickers will be put on your body which are called electrodes. You will have 1 on each arm and leg and 6 across your chest. These will not hurt.
When all the stickers are in place they will be connected to some wires. In turn the wires are then attached to the machine. You will need to lie still but it won’t take long.
The wires will trace your heart beat and electrical signals, which each beat makes and prints them out for your Doctor to keep in your medical file.
Once the test is finished the wires and stickers will be taken off.
