ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD: The workcampers will be host in 3-4 bedrooms with shared toilets on the floor. The meals are typical Italian Mediterranean cuisine, with limited consumption of meat for environmental reasons. There is the possibility of alternative choices for people who require a special diet. There is a washing machine available for the volunteers group.

LOCATION: Prali is small village of 300 inhabitants in the Italian Alps. Indeed, the place is located in a countryside, at 70km away from Turin, but the volunteers will be able to find a post office, a corner shop, a newsagent, a pub, a disco, a chemist and shops selling different kinds of goods. In a few words, It's a wonderful village completely surrounded by nature.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ARRIVAL: We require that all volunteers contact Agape secretariat before arriving. The access is quite complicated that is why we have to explain to everyone how to arrive.

LUNAR 02 “HURRICANE CLUB HOUSE” – Milan - RENO/SPOR - 14/06/2018-26/06/2018 – VOLS: 10 - AGE: 21+

PROJECT: The host association “Rubin Carter” was founded in 2008 and from 2013 runs a community gym, with the aim to guarantee economical accessibility to sport for all in the expensive city of Milan. The gym “Hurricane” supports several projects in which an upright fair play represent the natural prevention to discrimination and racism. The gym is completely self managed by the athletes and the coaches, that created and built up it independently in a daily development. The activities ar continuously increasing and with the help of workcampers in the past two years there were realized a second floor of the gym and an outdoor workout area. Now it’s time to build up a Club House for the socialization before and after trainings, to share and organize new sport and social projects.

WORK: The international volunteers group will help the local volunteers to dispose of trashes, clean up, rebuilt walls, pave floors, do plumbing and electrical works, painting, decorating, setting up the Club House... a lot of hard works! In the free time you can also enjoy the sport classes of boxe, yoga, martial arts, tai chi, break dance, capoeira, theater, belly dance… We will organize workshops about the practice of self building and public moment of community working.

ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD: Volunteers will be hosted at the “Space of Mutual Aid”, a community squat that hosts a lot of social projects and the co-housing of tens of families from all over the world. Here there is one large apartment (130 square meters) entirely dedicated to the volunteers without distinction between males and females. There will be hot water in the bathroom. You can use the Wifi in the building, but not in the room. The food will be prepared together by the volunteers and you can also eat vegetarian.

LOCATION: Milan, Italy


REQUIREMENTS: open only for partners of NOMADS project, will be open for all after the 10th of May.

TERMINAL: Milan. The nearest terminal is Milan Linate Airport (LIN) the second international airport of Milan but you can also fly on Milan Malpensa (MXP) and Bergamo Orio al Serio (BGY). The airports are well connected with the city by coach and railway. The nearest underground stop is “Lotto” on the red or purple line.

PROJECT: The “Crack” International Comics Festival is organized every year by Forte Prenestino Social Center, in Rome. Forte Prenestino is one of the most important alternative cultural and social project in Italy. It was squatted 30 years ago, and now is the promoter of many cultural underground events.

Crack will host editors and artists coming mainly from European and Mediterranean countries: 4 days of exhibitions, workshops and cultural exchange will involve hundreds of youngsters and experts. The festival will be held from the 21th to the 24th June 2018.


WORK: Volunteers will support the local group in managing the festival: preparation, restaurant, pub, cleaning and other activities will be shared with the local volunteers. The work could be physically hard, but the environment is funny and easy going!


ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD: Very basic conditions. Volunteers will be in a dorms with 10 beds. The volunteers will prepare the breakfasts and will have lunches and dinners with the local volunteers. Open showers (bring your swimsuits) and common toilets.

LOCATION: Rome – Lazio, Central.

REQUIREMENTS: To be open minded and ready to live in an alternative community. A project related motivation letter is needed, to show you are aware of the specific conditions.

LUNAR 04 “THE WOOD ARMONY” – Orvieto – MANU - 21/06/2018-04/07/2018 - VOLS: 14 - AGE: 16-17 FEE: 200€

PROJECT: The association Artemide, since many years, proposes experiences in the educational field.

The project has as primary objective: the education to the independence. It consists in stimulating and motivating the young people, above all if carriers of uneasiness, to be an active part in the process of theoretical construction and practice of the activities. In this way they appreciate the responsibility of an assignment to acquit. The knowledge is assimilated in the best way when it is combined to artistic practical activity, ecological, handicraft. The responsibility towards the whole world becomes an obvious consequence. The idea is to connect experiences and different knowledge.

In other words, the aim of this work camp is to make the House laboratory Cerquosino ( which has been restructured following bio building construction techniques focusing the attention on energy critical consumption)a place where different culture can gather and contribute to create a better place for the ones that will be hosted here in the future.


THE WORK: The volunteers in collaboration with the members of Artemide association will be involved in creative recycling workshops (how to create new object from recycled materials, using both traditional way of assembly and new creative and experimental techniques with pallets, wood from the forest, plastic bottle, paper....). The volunteers will also be involved in different work of maintenance of the house.

Working days from Monday to Friday, 5 hours a day.

Add Value of this experience: Protect the natural environment from the touristic speculation of the area - Increase the value of a disadvantaged rural area that has been constantly abandoned from the local population in the last 20 years - To put in practice the ideology of Ecology - To invent new solutions related to traditional practice and creativity.

ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD: Volunteers will be accommodated in a guest house which has 1 single room, 1 triple room, 1 dormitory with 8 bed and 1 dormitory with 6 bed. There is a common bathroom with 3 toilets and 3 showers. Washing machine is not available. No internet line available.The house laboratory Cerquosino has a big kitchen that the volunteer will use to prepare their own food, vegetarian or not, it’s up to their own decision. Nearby there are no shops, the nearest one is in the little village of Morrano. The nearest supermarket is in Orvieto.

LEISURE AND LOCATION: Leisure: during the free time, a trip to Orvieto, a walk in the natural park Elmo Melonta will be organised during the camp. Location: Location: the work camp will be held at the House laboratory Cerquosino that is located on the PegliaMountain, in the countryside 25 km away from the town of Orvieto in one of those disadvantaged and poorly productive areas that are nearly preserved intact until today. Cerquosino is situated inside the natural reserve of Elmo Melonta park, place of notable environmental interest. Inside flows the stream Melonta, where it is possible to take a bath.

REQUIREMENTS: What to bring: sleeping bag or single bed sheets, against mosquito lotion/cream/spray, sun protection cream, old dress for manual work, swimming suite, comfortable shoes as we are in mountain, electric torch, working glows, soaps and towel for personal use.remember that the house laboratory is very isolated, in the middle of a forest. Bring with you all the thing for personal use as the nearest shop is very far away with no public transportation to reach it.

LUNAR 06 “SAN SIRO COMMUNITY FEST” – Milan - FEST/KIDS - 05/07/2018-17/07/2018 - VOLS:10 - AGE: 21+

PROJECT: The host association “Aps Yard" was founded in 2001 and supports projects about many different focus area: anti-racism, sociability, cultures, territories, active citizenship, human rights, reuse and recycle, mutual aid, non-formal education with young people and children. The association promote together with a committee of inhabitants the annual summer community festival of the district “San Siro”, a multicultural popular block at the center of the main urban transformations of the second biggest Italian city. The aim of the workcamp is to achieve an exchange between the inhabitants of San Siro and the international volunteers group to create the possibility of learning experiences for both.


WORK: The festival was born to promote melting pot, social inclusion and anti-racism, the housing right for all, the improving of cultural and social conditions. The international volunteers group will help the inhabitants, the local volunteers and the association's partners to realize the event. Especially the volunteers will help to ideate, organize and manage the educational activities for youngster. Childrens and kids of that neighborhood often live in socio-economic disadvantages and during summer, with schools closed, they have few opportunities to participate to community activities. The international volunteers will be always side by side with local volunteers of the "Banda dei Pirati - Crew of Pirates Project" with experience in previous festival editions.

LUNAR 07 “VILLAGE IN THE WORLD ” – Roccantica – RENO/ENVI - 06/07/2018-17/07/2018 - VOLS: 12 - AGE: 15-17 – FEE: 200€

SUMMARY : Help the local host to renovate, clean and restore the village surroundings. At the same time, discover and give energy to the local community. #Nature #Interculturality #Renovation #Village

PROJECT: ALA-Associazione Liberi Artigiani is a NGO created in 2009 and oriented to the creation of opportunities to support social inclusion, intercultural integration and employability for young people and adults from Italy and all over Europe. These projects involve individuals and communities as well as non-profit organizations active on a local, national and international level. In late 2014, ALA started the renovation of a mountain refuge located in the middle of the Sabine Mountains to organise youth training programs and initiatives, to host mountain lovers who want to discover the beauties of Sabina. From 2015, ALA works with different target groups up on the mountains and in collaboration with the nearby village of Roccantica. The cooperation with the local community is based on supporting citizen to get in contact with youth from all over the word and get the benefit of intercultural dialogue.

WORK: The volunteers will support the local community in different renovational and environmental activities. Volunteers will be involved in the following tasks: Cleaning, maintaining and restoring walking paths. Social activities with the youth and elderly from the village (cooking together, playing cards, organizing game program and free time activity together).

ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD: Volunteers will be hosted in the local hostel, in rooms with 6 beds. Common toilets and showers. Cooperative organization of meals and cleaning.

LEISURE AND LOCATION: Leisure: During their free time, volunteers could make some excursions (hiking, trekking, orienteering, night under the stars) – some workshops (cheese, soap making, hand made pasta, bread and pizza making, etc...) - sports (swimming pool, climbing, low ropes, yoga) – and milking with local farmer to learn to work with mules.IMPORTANT: - It won’t be possible to visit Rome - The free time activity will be organized by the leaders to allow participants to explore the village and the surroundings.

Location: Roccantica(RI) Lazio, Central Italy. Approximately 40 kilometers northeast of Rome, the area called Sabina, where Roccantica is located, is a part of the Apennine chain. The landscape is made of hills covered with olives, which rise towards steeper mountains, with extensive oak woods and small medieval villages, castles and monasteries. It is a landscape that has remained substantially unchanged over time and little affected by modern building development. Roccantica is located on the slopes of the "Pizzuto"mountain at 454 meters. of height.


REQUIREMENTS: To be ready for walking and trekkings, here the mountains are the most important natural heritage To come with proper outdoor equipment (trekking shoes, working clothes, etc...) To be ready to be in small village, no shops To be open minded. To be ready to live a group experience base on life in common, exchange, cooperation, teamwork. To live in isolated place. To do an effort of communication, nobody in the village speak English A project related motivation letter is needed.

TERMINAL: Rome FCO, then direct train to Poggio Mirteto, or Rome CIA, connection with train and bus.

FEE: €200 for international volunteers; €265 for italian volunteers.

LUNAR 08 “COGNOLO REFUGE” – Casperia – RENO/ENVI - 06/07/2018-17/07/2018 - VOLS: 12 - AGE: 15-17 – FEE: 200€

PROJECT: The Cognolo refuge is a mountain hosting place belonging the Local municipality of Casperia and managed by ALA association. The refuge was abandoned for 10 years until the organization ALA in collaboration with the work of local and international volunteers started its renovation in 2014. It remains a place of experimentation of innovative and ecological solution. The objectives of this project are to make citizens come closer to local flora and fauna and to promote sustainable and slow tourism in Sabina's mountains. In other words, the work-camp is an educational experience for youth to understand the concepts of consumption, resources, environment and rebuild new relationships with nature and its elements.


WORK: The volunteers will support the local group in different renovation and environmental activities. Volunteers will be involved in the following tasks: creating educational panels to explain the cycle of composting organic matter, dry toilet, etc... restoring an old floor with stones; woodworking and carpentry; gardening; drywall; maintaining a walking path.

PROJECT: The association Bau Mela non-profit organization does most of its business under a mountain area in the heart of Montiferru (Or) from the extreme landscape and natural value . In 2011 within this area it was built a service center that allows the constant presence and volunteer activities in all seasons of the year. Among some of which ordinary and everyday, more of a seasonal nature.

Some of the principles that inspire the recovery and enhancement of the valley are



synergistic gardening, permaculture, alternative energy, energy saving and development of pastoral traditions. The association also runs a study center on pastoralism and farming practices.

WORK: International volunteers will work in different activities necessary for the development of natural heritage and to tasks of maintenance and improvement of Bau Mela facilities. Specifically, the tasks of the volunteers will be 1. Construction works; restoring some structures; green building with materials found on site; canalisation works. 2. Synergistic horticulture activities; recovery and cleaning paths; harvesting and processing of wild plants (sambuco/elder); daily management of the forest and participation in meal preparation and cleaning of common areas.


ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD: Volunteers will sleep in tents. Natural toilets and showers are available. Electricity is available from photovoltaic panels in the facility, volunteers can charge devices.

LEISURE AND LOCATION: Bau Mela community is in the isolated area of central Sardina. Buses arrives 2.5 km close and pick up service is provided. Train station is Abbasanta, nearest city is Oristano.

REQUIREMENTS: Ready to live in simple conditions, working clothes. Some tasks can be hard work, no internet connection available.

TERMINAL: Cagliari. Better to arrive in the morning for catch the local connections at time.

PROJECT: Colle Berardino is an organic, settled in an isolated area, with fewer opportunities. This year, we will organize the First Harvest Festival in Colle Berardino, with the support of Tularu, an organic farm with whom we use to collaborate to enhance the agricultural products of our area (the grain, especially). This collaboration is made through the Filiera Project since two years.


WORK: The work will be done with the support of the other workcamp of Tularu. There are two kinds of activities: agricultural and social. Agricultural activities: - Built an enclosure to protect the wildlife - Prepare the Harvest Party with recyclable material as benches, tables and seats - Harvest aromatic herbs and grains in the farm. During the days 20th, 21st and 22nd the volunteers will join the group of a second workcamp in Tularu to prepare the HARVEST AND THRESHING FEASTl. Social work: - Maintain the hiking trail - Create a poster in english for the tourists who visit this area.
