These three shows were recorded in 1977 by Crichter. Their content corresponds to three consecutive episodes from the series of the preceding year. These recordings are not included in the collection as the original broadcast recordings are more complete and of better quality.

Samantha’s first appearance as “lady scorer” but not named.

This copy includes a post-show commentary on the Mornington Crescent play by the continuity announcer.

This series of eight shows from 1988 (from Peter Chadwick) does not correspond to the various series catalogues. Was there a season of repeats in 1988? If the shows were repeats, they can only be from the 1987 series as that was the first season with Paul Spencer as producer and the only such series to antedate 1988. Can anyone supply authoritative identifications?

All segments are from 1990.

Ned Sherrin’s Foreward was included in the repeat broadcast and in the cassette compilation.

This entry catalogues a recording of the raw theatre performances at Wolverhampton that produced S38e01 and S38e02.

All segments might be expected to beare believed to date originally from 1987 and 1989, the Paul Spencer erathe 1980’s. However series 20 is from the Jon Naismith era.

All segments are from 1990. Jon Magnusson was the producer in 1990 and 1991, series 16 and 17.

All segments are believed to date from the 1982 through 1986, the Paul Mayhew Archer era0’s. The identified segments do come from this era.

See also under Ephemera for a PDF distillation of the BBC web site for the 30th anniversary. File sizes are for MP3 format. These sound bites are also supplied in WAV format for those who want to try improving them further.
