Provide extensive customer service satisfaction in hosting (to the highest quality), to ensure history and current information of the hatchery, eagle center, and the cultural history of Haida, Tlingit and Tsimshian tribes. Incumbent will also be responsible for oral presentation of eagle center & hatchery information, ticket booth sales, greeting visitors, taking and filling fish sale orders, issuing charges and collecting payment. Hours and days of work may vary and will include holidays and weekends.
Essential Tour Host Job Functions
COMPLETES OPERATION BY:
Studying itinerary, materials of local history and customs, salmon life cycle, eagle / raptor center information;
Provides information on answering questions, obtaining tickets sales, selling combo tickets and fish sales for customers;
Processing cash, credit cards, and combo tickets from customers;
Filling out daily cash sheets to report sales, balancing cash drawer at end of day;
Reconciling credit card and cash deposits;
Provides Assistance to handicap visitors to access the facility.
Ability to work as a team player, follow written and oral instructions to perform job duties;
Skill in verbal presentations a must.
Physical Activities Include
Must be able to hear. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or operate objects tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch; and taste or smell. Each of the listed activities also requires standing, sitting, walking, bending, and stooping, climbing on stools and ladders, and routinely lifting and carrying items and boxes up to forty (40) pounds.
Frequently required to stand for extended hours. Will work weekends, and holidays.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required.
Prefer two years experience sales and tourism industry.
Any combination of related education and/or related experience will be considered if the candidate posses the demonstrated ability.
Individual must be able to pass a pre-hire drug screen
