Five Leopard Skins seized

Two arrested from Alipur, Delhi

The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested two persons and seized five leopard skins from them. One accused hails from Nahan, Himachal Pradesh while the other is from Yamuna Nagar, Haryana. They had come to the city to sell off the animal skins hoping to get a price of Rs. 80,000/- to Rs. 1 lac for each of them. They revealed that all the five leopards had been trapped and killed in the forests of Himachal Pradesh by their associate known only as ‘Bengali’. The arrested persons are:

  1. Moinuddin (50) r/o Village Bhedo, Nahan, Himachal Pradesh – He bought the skins from one ‘Bengali’ who, according to Moinuddin, had trapped all the five animals in the forests of Himachal Pradesh and adjoining areas. The trap used to catch the animal was an iron clamp which was planted along the tracts known to be frequented by the big cat. As soon as the unsuspecting animal stepped on the clamp it shut down upon itself and trapped the animal’s leg in an extremely painful and irreversible grip. The hunter came back on daybreak the next day. The animals were killed by lathies but care was taken so as not to damage their expensive skin. The flesh and bones of the big cat are used by for manufacturing aphrodisiacs and all kinds of drugs said to cure impotency. The skins are sold to ‘connoisseurs’ who pay handsome amounts to hang them on their walls.

  2. Ajay Sharma (52) r/o Yamuna Nagar, Haryana – He runs a makeshift ayurvedic medicine shop. He worked as Moinuddin’s front man and helped him look for prospective buyers for the skins. Both the accused were apprehended together in the area of Alipur, Delhi where they had come to sell off the skins.

Therefore, she opened a boutique in Lajpat Nagar in 1989. Her husband also used to look after the boutique. In Sept 2005, while working in her boutique at Lajpat Nagar, she came in contact with Gulfam and got involved with him. She was residing with her father at East of Kailash, Delhi. She pretended to be a rich lady who could spend money on Gulfam lavishly. Gulfam began to ask for money from her on one pretext or the other. Soon she was under heavy debt. Niti Sarin provided a white bed sheet to cover the dead body and all the accused persons took the dead body to Sardana (UP) in a Ford Ikon car which Gulfam had borrowed from his friend Ravi Goyal. The accused persons dumped the dead body in agricultural fields near Sardana in UP. Then, on 18/05/09, Niti Sarin lodged a missing report of her father stating that her father had gone to Chandni Chowk in the morning but had not come back.

After the murder of Sh. Surjit Singh Marwah, Niti Sarin and Gulfam contacted one builder namely Judge Chawla for rebuilding the property. After going through the papers, Judge Chawla said that the documents were not complete and he advised them to forge a gift deed in the name of Niti Sarin from her father. He was also afraid that the missing father of Niti Sarin could come back. But when Niti Sarin told him the whole story of the murder of her father, he helped her in forging the gift deed and agreed to enter into a collaboration agreement. Thereafter, they prepared the forged papers relating to the property No. 204, Kailash Hills, East of Kailash Delhi and presently, the said Chawla is redeveloping the property.

GANG OF CHEATERS including a Nigerian national

LURING innocent internet userS BUSTED

With the arrest of two accused namely (i) Arobomosen Paul, Nigerian National and (ii) Kavita @ Rajni Gautham, the South District Police have busted a gang of cheaters who cheated innocent internet users by luring them to get huge profit for procuring roots medicine for curing cancer and HIV.

INCIDENT

On 16.12.08, while the complainant K.G. Mahalingam of Erode, Kerala was checking the mail in the internet, he came in contact with one new man viz. Dennis Jones. He said that he is working in HIV Rescue team, London and he asked the complainant to arrange Agboro Rroot, which is used to make medicine to eradicate HIV and Cancer, for him. He said that all the raw materials required to make such medicine are rejected in all other countries and the root from India called as ‘Agboro root’ has been approved by the W.H.O (World Health Organisation). The said Dennis Jones also said that he had come to India last time to buy the Agboro Root. He bought one Sachet for Rs.3500/- (about 70 U.S. Dollars) and sold it to his company for 230 U.S. Dollars (plus 10% local Indian Government Tax i.e. actual cost 253 U.S. Dollars). After getting the roots from India, the company has developed and he has been promoted. So now he is unable to come to India to purchase the root and his M.D. is going to send a new delegate. If that delegate comes to know the original price, his services will be terminated. So he requested Mr. Mahalingam to purchase the Agboro Root from Mr. and Mrs. Gautham, and gave their mobile numbers. On 23.12.2008, the accused told the complainant that he has given his address as the real seller in India. The M.D. also contacted the complainant and mailed. They also sent a purchase order with W.H.O. approval to the complainant and said that they require 2500 sachets. They also told the complainant that cash will be given at the time of delivery. The complainant asked them to send the payment through bank and proper document for income tax., but they replied on phone that being the first delivery they will not be able to pay without seeing the root. They further said that their delegate viz. Mr. Andrew Philip will come to New Delhi on 13th January and he contact the complainant as soon as he reaches Delhi.

The complainant came to Delhi after believing the version of the accused persons to receive the delivery from Mrs. Gautham at McDonald, Green Park. There he met Mrs. Gautham and received 10 sachets of Agboro roots @ Rs.3500/ each sachet. The complainant contacted the M.D. and told that he had collected the samples and want to give them the samples, but the M.D. told that the minimum requirement for first delivery is 200 sachets. He kept on insisting that this is the minimum requirement of W.H.O that the delivery can be made and money can be collected. As per their directions, he again contacted Mrs. Rajni Gautham for the next consignment. The complainant again received the delivery of 70 sachets @ Rs. 3500/- each at the same place and paid Rs. 2,80,000/-. But the accused insisted to increase the quantity again and again. At that time, the complainant got some suspicion as he had already made the payment of Rs 7 lakhs to Mrs. Gautham. He approached to the local police for timely action.
The local police swiftly acted on the complaint and registered a case vide FIR No.43/09 dated 11.02.09 u/s 420/34 IPC at Police Station Hauz Khas. A police team was constituted comprising of Inspectors Virender Jain & Yogesh Malhotra, SI Chanderashekhar, HC Islamuddin and Const. Jagdish under the supervision of Insp. SP Kukrety, SHO/ Hauz Khas and overall supervision of Sh. Maher Singh ACP. The police team organized a trap and the complainant was asked to make contact with accused persons to deliver the remaining consignment of roots at the same venue i.e. McDonald, Green Park. Both the accused reached at the Rendezvous and the police team succeeded to arrest both the accused persons with the consignment i.e 300 sachets.

INTERROGATION

On sustained interrogation, the accused revealed that they used to lure the internet users to get easy money by investing on their directions. They used to insist to buy more and more quantity of roots from the contacts till they exhausted all the resources and then they vanished with all the money.

The accused lady namely Rajni Gautham is a housewife residing at A-20 Om Vihar, New Delhi. She came into the contact with 4 Nigerian Nationals while they were searching for the accommodation. The lady managed to get them the accommodation in the nearby house on rent. After some time she started working with them as a maid during this period the Nigerians used the lady as conduit. She was promised profit at the rate of 5% of the received amount.
Accused Arobomosen Paul is a Nigerian National who came to India on 2nd December, 2005 on tourist visa and now he is not holding any valid visa and over staying in this country for which he is being prosecuted separately under the provisions of Passport Act.
