News Express Channel,

H-66, Sector-63

Noida, U.P.

Sir,

This is to bring to your kind notice about misconduct of Shri Deepak Kumar, Reporter of your esteemed channel.

On 01.11.11, Shri Deepak Kumar came to the office of Shri Satyendra Garg, Joint CP/Traffic, Delhi with a request to get byte on traffic arrangements of Delhi Police for Chhath Puja. After completing the interview, Shri Deepak Kumar put a general question as to whether more than one vehicle can run on one registration number. Shri Garg responded by saying that as per Motor Vehicles Act provisions, only one vehicle can use a particular registration number and no two vehicles should have same registration number. The Reporter did not mention in what context he was asking this specific question.

It has come to notice that his response to the query on more than one vehicle using same registration number has been misused with the story of Dera Sacha Saudha. I have also come to know that your Reporter transferred the sound byte to other channels like Aaj Tak, News 24, Live India and India TV which ran the story of Dera Sacha Sauda with his byte on legal position regarding use of registration number plate.

The conduct of Shri Deepak Kumar is clearly unethical and unwarranted which has led to unnecessary clubbing of issues by so many channels. The conduct of Shri Deepak Kumar is not only unprofessional but unethical also in sharing the byte with other channels on unconnected matters.

I will appreciate if you could look into the matter personally for appropriate action.

Yours faithfully,

(Rajan Bhagat)
