Pasumai trust is working for eradication of child labour in brick kiln industries from the support of ASHA FOR EDUCATION. Those who migrate from one district to another district seasonally (or) climatically. We operating four (4) Centre at various places in our working area and giving the basic Education like Alphabets, Numeric etc. After six month during this year (2006) in July end people have gone to their native villages. . At the same time we make a Follow – up- Visits to their places and analysis the report whether the Student are enrolled in the School for further Education, Whether there is Dropouts. In such cases we take further step for Children Education and admit them in the School. And also we have appointed our animators in government schools near by brick kilns area. More over there were teachers not enough in the Government School. We have given details report during this August month.
WORK OF OUR ANIMATORS IN GOVERNMENT SCHOOL:
Usually After six month from July to December our Animators are appointing in the Government Schools due to teacher deficit and also to improve their teaching skills. Now we have been appointed our 5 Animators in government schools in different places. And. Asst. Cordinator V. Gowrishankar has visited the Schools regularly and discuss about children improvements, Animators regular Attendance and teaching skill of our animators. Every Saturday meeting is organized and we discuss about the work done by our animators in one week in the school. We will see the detail list of teacher recruited in Government school
All Animators have worked in Panchyat union primary School and Middle school with combine with Government teacher. They have taking Classes for 1st & 2nd standard and they teach in playing method and by telling Story Songs, Dances etc. Students are very clever in alphabets, Numeric and extra curricula activities etc. Students are very much affection with our animators, not only Student but also the Teachers and village peoples. Parents will come and gather the report of their child skill and standard of his education.
We have started our first Visit on 24.8.06 and we did these visits up to 26.8.06. In Villupuram District. We begin our journey on 25th Friday from our office at 5.45 p.m and went to Chennai from there to Villupuram; we reached Villupuram at 1.00 pm. After a small rest (Sleep) in TAFRE (Tamilnadu Alliance for Right to Education and Equity) District office. We started our Morning Visit at 10.00A.M. To A. NATHAM, Panruttee Taluk, Cuddalore District. We reached the village at 11.30 a.m. I and All Animators gathered at one place near Panchayat Middle School. We met Head Master and Teacher of that Government School they welcomed us and also they hoped their heart full thanks for our Trust and Director and Staff for our service. We recollect all the brick kiln Student who have studied at our centre at their Bridge school in Tiruvallur District. That time entire student was gathered. All the student who have studied in brick kiln during their migration is belongs to Tamari Bridge School in Kanadapalayam and their Animator was M. Parimala and
Y. Pokkisham. We will see the details of student who enrolled in Government school after their bridge school.
After that we meet their parents discussed about their work after coming from brick chambers. The village people were very happy after meeting us. And also we discussed about the Tamil nadu Welfare board for them.
The mean time they delivered a Hot Coffee and Cool Drinks to us. They gave more Response to us beyond we Expect. We left the village at 1.00 p.m.
This village is next to the a. Natham village in cuddalore district. We reach the village at 2.30 p.m. First we met their parents and village people and the parents gave us good response and we discussed about their works after coming back form the brick kiln. The children from that village is belongs to Roja Bridge School in Aranvoyal village in Thriuvallur District, and Animator was M. Sumithra. In this village totally eight children were enrolled in their village school. Only one child was not enrolled in that school because teachers asked money from him in the Danish mission primary school (Aided school). We met head master and class teacher and we asked them about fees for student.
They said, we will manage our school in low budget from government’ but poor children can’t pay fees. That time immediately head master enrolled that child (Ajith) in class 3rd. This was very good experience for our team and follow up visits are essential.

We were very happy during that time in that Thirunavalur village. Ajith parent very happy for their child enrolled in school. All children are very happy.
KARUVEPPILAY PALAYAM (Neem Leaves village)
In same day 25.08.06 we went to K.V.palayam village in Ulundurpet Taluk of Villuppuram District. We reached there at 4 pm. We met all 18 children and their parents.
These children were studied in our Sun flower school at Rajankuppam during Feb to August 15th. Some families came here in their native village in end of the June month. Only their children were enrolled and continuing education 5 children.

24.08.06 Thursday only all Brick kiln workers came to there to their native village.13 children have to go too enrolled in school. Actually enrollment period have gone in up to July every year. But government has passed order that enrollment period extended up to September. We have explained to all parents about that G.O. They told us to go to enroll their children on Monday 28.08.06.
Our visiting time people were appreciated us and they provided tea and snacks for us. They were very happy.
During these 3 days visits that same day on 25.06.08 we also went to visited C.MEYYUR Village near Thiruvennai nellur. There also we met children and parents in that village. 7 children were enrolled and continuing their education. here we giving the name list of those children.

Totally 38 children are continuing their education.
On 26 .08.06 we went to visits Pudu karuvatchi village in villuppuram District.
In that village 18 Dalits huts was fired in 19 Th fire accidents. We met affected people and visited damaged houses. That time they were not have any shelter for survival. People and governments were given Rice, sarees, dhotis bet they need temporary shelter. We have given report for seeking funds for shelter. People have losed their resident land certificate and school certificate and children losses their books and note books.
We end our visits in that village at 2pm.and we returned to Tiruvallur. It was very difficult for our return journey because all buses were very rush from Chennai to Tiruvallur.we reached in our home at 10pm. Anyway this trip was very use full and meaningful.
