Policies & Rules

IMPORTANT!

Please review the Convention Rules of Engagement and BWW Responsible Alcohol Policy, and print a copy for your records. These policies will be enforced. You will also be required to accept these terms in order to complete your online registration.

BWW Responsible Alcohol Policy
In accordance with the Buffalo Wild Wings Responsible Alcohol Policy, you will be given drink tickets will be hosted on Sunday night and Tuesday night. Buffalo Wild Wings will provide each registered attendee with four drink tickets for redemption at the event bars for Sunday’s Welcome Reception and Tuesday’s Awards Ceremony Reception and Dinner. Any additional alcoholic beverages will be at your own expense. The banquet bars accept credit cards, hotel guestroom keys and cash; however, Sunday’s Welcome Reception venue does not accept cash.

All Buffalo Wild Wings Team Members must comply with company policies and procedures. The Rules of Engagement are by no means all inclusive. As a BWW Team Member you should always exemplify uncompromising integrity and respect for all individuals. The words you say and the way you act should reflect the Company’s Leadership Values:

Lead by Example – Serve as a role model for others. Hold yourself and others to the BWW standards of high integrity and respect. Create a climate of professionalism and respect.

Embrace Diversity – Be all-inclusive in your actions. Value different points-of-view; demonstrate interest and appreciation of different backgrounds, cultures and socio-economic levels, as well as diverse and opposing perspectives on an issue. We value and benefit from the entrepreneurial spirit of each individual.

Act with Integrity – Do not compromise BWW standards treat everyone with dignity as you would like to be treated and “do the right thing each and every day – no excuses.”

Develop Community Partnerships – establish rapport, develop and maintain appropriate networks and work collaboratively to achieve common goals.

Encourage Teamwork – Mobilize individuals to work toward a shared purpose.

Respond with Urgency – Be responsive to the needs of the business and other Team Members. Respond and follow up in a timely manner. Take the initiative, act decisively, execute exceptionally well, and always aim to “win” as a Team.

Show Respect – Be fair, honest and ethical when working with people and in business relationships.

Have Open and Honest Communication – Communicate with others in an honest, open, direct and respectful manner. Seek to hear and understand the unspoken or partly expressed thoughts, feelings and concerns of others.

Improve Continually – Push the parameters, seek out new ways and strategies to approach issues and never be satisfied with the “Status Quo” – the way things are. Strive for continuous learning, be the driver of your personal and professional development.

Put People First – The success and future of BWW rests with our Team Members. In all your thoughts and actions, think of the effect of your decisions and actions on our most precious commodity – People.

The following are some examples of inappropriate behavior:

  • Tardiness and absenteeism at scheduled functions (e.g. round table and breakout sessions).

  • Using or being under the influence of illegal drugs or controlled substances during the conference.

  • Over indulging in alcohol. Cocktails, beer and wine should only be consumed in moderation.

  • Transferring alcohol drink tickets to other Team Members at Buffalo Wild Wings functions and events.

  • Inviting other Team Members, franchisees, vendors or other individuals to your hotel room. The only exception would be those Team Members who have roommates. In those situations, only assigned roommates will be allowed in your hotel room.
  • Damaging or being destructive to hotel property.

  • Inappropriate dress during the conference. The dress for the convention is business casual for conference events and business dress for the Awards Banquet.

Overall Guiding Principle

“Remember, if you wouldn’t want your actions to be reported in the media, it’s probably not the right thing to do.”

FRANCHISEE TRACK
* Important Announcement: The Food Experience and Beverage Experience breakouts will encompass the training for the new April 2011 menu. To ensure all Franchise Teams have the knowledge and information upon returning from convention to train their teams it will be required that at least one team member from your organization attend these two sessions.
Beer Experience* (Open to Franchisees)

BEER is a key component of the BWW Brand and in creating the ultimate experience for every sports fan. During this session the Beer experts will take you through hands on, walk, talk and try interactive training session that will cover every aspect of beer.

Food Experience* (Open to Franchisees)

The secret is out. Buffalo Wild Wings will launch a new Food menu April 2011. During this session plan to journey category by category thru the new menu. Hands on interactive training will take place in the largest BWW food show ever.

Franchisee Networking

This is an opportunity for our Franchise Owners to network with one another, share best practices and discuss business concerns.

Investigations & Lawsuits: Alcohol and Restaurant Safety

How do you respond to alcohol incidents, guest injuries, and employee injuries in your restaurants? This breakout is designed for the Buffalo Wild Wings Franchise Owner. We will examine responses to these types of incidents to maximize legal protections and actions you can take before an incident to maintain cost effectiveness for your franchised business.

Next Generation BWW Research Update and Ideation

The branding of the Buffalo Wild Wings in-restaurant experience continues to evolve and grow. During this session the brand development and store design teams will present the highlights of the recently completed next generation research. The goal of the research is to inform the process of improving the restaurant experience for our guests and team members; a process that will unfold in 2011. In addition to reviewing the research findings, an ideation session will be conducted to help develop key differentiators that could continue to move BWW to the future.

Government Relations

The Government Relations breakout session will have three parts. To begin, Eric Vanetti from the Labor Relations Institute will address specific union-related questions that arose during the most recent Franchise Business meetings.

Next, Amy Showalter of The Showalter Group will discuss BWW Advocacy Efforts. According to Showalter, the ultimate goal of any advocacy effort is not just to advocate and educate legislators, but to successfully persuade them to support issues vital to our industry. To achieve this, BWW advocates must stand out from the more than 10,000 other interest groups registered to lobby the U.S. Congress and state legislatures.
That’s why BWW has established the BWW Legislative Action Network (BWWLAN) and Political Action Committee (BWW PAC). We want to make it convenient and easy for you to not only engage in the legislative process, but to be a positive, persuasive agent on issues that impact BWW and your business.
Finally, we will work with an external speaker who is an expert at the current state of affairs in Washington.

Developer Meeting

We are committed to communicating with our Franchise Owners the current processes regarding restaurant development, remodels and renewals. As in years past, we will host a Developer's Meeting open to all Franchise Owners, however, if you are developing, remodeling or renewing in 2011, your attendance is mandatory.
