Adopt-A-Highway – Men’s Club Project. Pick up and bag roadside trash on Shir Ami’s adopted Highway, Heacock Road between Stony Hill and Route 1.
Location: Meet at McCaffrey’s parking lot - Stony Hill & Heacock Roads, Yardley
Children 13+ - Adult 10AM
Advocacy Table – Visit our advocacy table for information about the agencies we are supporting this year. Send a letter to our soldiers, etc. Location: Hallway outside of the Sanctuary
Aid For Friends - Prepare and package meals for frail elderly and homebound clients affiliated with Aid for Friends.
Location: Shir Ami Social Hall Kitchen

Specify Shift 9:30AM-10:15AM OR 10:15AM-11AM
American Red Cross Shelter – Inventory, organization, meal service, cleanup.
Breakfast 7am-10am Lunch 10:30am-1:30pm Dinner 4pm-7pm
Pantry Chores or work in the Storage Room
10:30am-12:30pm or 12:30PM-2:30PM or 2:30PM-4:30PM

A Women’s Place - Make personal care packages and cards for residents at A Women’s Place.
Location: Atrium Children 5+ - Adult 10AM
Ask the Doctor – Free blood pressures. Ask about your risk for heart disease, BMI wheel available for questions about weight, where to get your medications for less money, the difference between the flu and a cold, etc. Visit Dr. Schorr’s table anytime during Mitzvah Day.

Breakfast Bags for ‘Aid for Friends’ – Make breakfast bags containing various items for the frail and elderly. Help decorate the paper bags that will hold the breakfast foods.
Location: Atrium Children 5+ - adult
Canned Goods Collection and Separation - Separate food into kosher and non-kosher categories. Check expiration dates.
Every child is requested to bring at least one non-perishable food item to Sunday School on Mitzvah Day. Boxed cereals especially needed!
Location: Religious School Lobby Teens – Adults 9:30AM
Cell Phones for Soldiers – Donate cell phones to be restored for our military personnel. Look for the donation box near the Family Life Center.

Chandler Hall – Bake and package cookies for residents at Chandler Hall.
Location – Auditorium kitchen Children 13+ - Adult Noon Children under 13 welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. Lunch immediately following in the Social Hall.

Clothing Collection and Separation – Separate and bag clothing for pickup by local charities. WISH LIST: Donations of gently used clothing and Boy’s Bar Mitzvah Suits for the Mensch Warehouse.

Craft Table – Make cards and crafts for delivery to kids at CHOP, residents at Chandler Hall, congregants visited by our clergy, etc.

Deliveries - Some Mitzvah Day donations will be dropped off at the Registration Table and will need to be delivered to various locations in our building.

High Holy Day Food Drive Bags – Help us get a head start for the High Holy Days by stapling flyers onto the 1000 High Holy Day Food Drive bags. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN STAPLER.

Jewish National Fund – visit the table sponsoring JNF and see how you can help Israel rebuild from the fire that destroyed the once magnificent forests that grace Israel’s Carmel mountain range.

Kits for Kids – Make cards and fill packages
of items for kids at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Knitting/Crocheting – Bring / Make 8 X 8 squares for afghans
to be donated to St. Mary Cancer Center and Greenwood House. Make gloves, mittens, hats, scarves for the needy. Yarn provided or bring your own – bring your own hooks and needles.
Wanted: Teens-Adults who can knit or crochet.

Library Project – Rearrange and shelve books. Work on catalog card file, etc.

Mensch Warehouse – The Mensch Warehouse Bar Mitzvah suit exchange is collecting very gently used boys suits to donate to Jewish families in Northeast Philadelphia. SUITS MUST BE DRY CLEANED AND BAGGED. Boy's dress shirts, dress shoes, belts and ties would also be appreciated. Bring your donations to the Registration Table. SHAFTY and Religious School - MULTI-MITZVAH MANIA!
SHAFTY will be coordinating projects for our youth including card making, letters to the troops, decorating flower pots and making friendship bracelets for nursing homes, decorating bookmarks to promote literacy, etc.
Mitzvah & LINCS hours granted upon request.

Shir Ami Food Pantry – Help separate food, discard outdated items, package for distribution to various agencies.

Shir Ami Grounds Clean up – Help maintain our lawn and gardens by picking up leaves and other debris. Children welcome if accompanied by an adult.

Please send your child to Religious School with at least one non-perishable food item for a donation on Mitzvah Day.
Shir Ami Indoor Clean up Join us as we perform the special mitzvah of sprucing up our synagogue. Cleaning supplies will
be provided or for those of you who especially enjoy cleaning – bring your own special glass polish or furniture polish and feel free to use it wherever you see wish! Bring your special rags also!

Shir Ami Painting - Assorted painting projects to maintain and improve Shir Ami’s facility.

Shir Ami Pre-School – All toddlers invited to story time to help raise funds for Children’s Hospital. Look for a separate flyer from Sharon Baronoff. For more info call 215-493-5944.

Tyler Park – Clean up on trails, remove debris and overgrown trees/bushes. Manual labor involved.

Walk for Cancer - Once again, the Early Learning Center will be sponsoring a walk in memory of Bobbi Slutzsky – a beloved teacher at our school for many years. Participants need to fill out
