ASL 2 “My Life” Project


You are choosing to tell your life story (real plans or imaginary)

from graduating high school to your: 10 year high school reunion, retirement, or funeral

Rubric:

30% drawn boxes

-20 or more boxes: hand drawn (& colored-unless detailed artwork)

-each box clearly shows what it represents (please add a word or the date to show the time at the top of each box)

-each box must contain: a time/date/year; a drawing of a Life Event or Disaster sign (something that happened)

30% gloss

-each sign written in all capital letters

-written in this order: Transition, TIME, LIFE-EVENT/DISASTER, (person/pronoun if needed), +1 more sentence of detail.

-marked for non-manual signals (line over the signs, labeled “t” for topic at the beginning of each box- over TIME; add rhetorical question markers if desired)

-Transition for each box include some sense of time: specific year (2015), NEXT-YEAR, FUTURE, FINISH, NEXT, etc.

-Life Event or Disaster sign for each box

-transitions + Life Event/disaster sign example: “in 2019 I graduated from college”

-At least one sentence of extra detail for each box

-example of extra detail example for the above box: “My family gave me a party to celebrate.”

40% signed to class

-signed 20 transitions (each with eyebrows up), 20 life event or disaster signs, and 20 extra details.

-quality (correct parameters), word choice, practiced/fluency, facial expressions (NMS eyebrows begin each box)
