INSELTOWN TATTLER…

SETH ROGEN and JAMES FRANCO temporarily suspended media appearances for their new movie The Interview after the Sony Pictures hackers made violent threats against theaters that plan to show the film. The threat warned of 9/11-like attacks, although investigators say it doesn’t appear the threat is credible. The hackers warned moviegoers ‘how bitter fate those who seek fun in terror should be doomed to’ and recommended to keep distant from theaters at that time, adding that if your house is nearby, you'd better leave. Meanwhile, government officials say they’re closing in on the hackers and could come down hard on them now that they’ve made threats to Americans. Sony plans to go ahead with the Christmas Day opening, but is giving theaters the option of backing out, some of which are.

The latest dirt from the Sony Pictures hack involves JAMES FRANCO, one of the stars of the upcoming movie The Interview, about a Kim Jong Un assassination plot that appears to be the motive for the hacking. An e-mail exchange between Sony Pictures executives says, "James Franco proves once again that irritation is his strong suit which is a shame because the character could have been appealing and funny out of his hands." The executive also calls the movie itself "desperately unfunny" and says he’d prefer that no cast member to tour in promotion of it.

I’ll take this job and shove it for $100, Alex! Another tidbit from the Sony Pictures hack reveals that ALEX TREBEK put his future with Jeopardy in Jeopardy! It was over an incident during Kids Week earlier this month in which a girl ended the game in the red, meaning she couldn’t compete in Final Jeopardy. Apparently the girl had a fit backstage and her mother wrote to producers, saying she didn’t like the way Alex handled the situation and producers suggested re-taping the segment. Trebek fired back, "If you all think I should re-tape the opening, I will, but I want to say that for 30 years I've defended our show against attacks inside and out…and I'm not feeling support from the producers, and that disappoints the s—t out of me. If I'm making mistakes and saying things you don’t like, maybe it's time for me to move on. It's not a threat, but I want to let you know how I'm feeling."

BILL COSBY is getting more support, although it’s from another family member. After his wife Camille issued a statement of support, his daughter Evin Cosby issued her own statement saying Bill Cosby "is the father you thought you knew." She also defended her father in a since-deleted Facebook post reading: "Rape is a serious allegation and it is suppose to be taken very seriously but so is falsely accusing someone. When someone rapes a person they go to prison. That should also happen to the person that has wrongfully accused an innocent victim. They are not only destroying innocent people's life they are also making it hard for the men and women to find justice when they have been raped."

More BILL COSBY accusers have come forward. Kathie Lee Gifford, who toured with him in the 1970s, said that he once tried to kiss her. However, Gifford told him they were just friends and they both said goodnight and went into their separate rooms and that was it. Meanwhile, a woman named Chloe Goins says she met Cosby when she was 18 during a 2008 party at the Playboy Mansion. She claims Cosby gave her a drink and she woke up naked in a bedroom with him sucking her toes and touching himself. When she asked what was going on she says Cosby pulled up his pants and ran out of the room. Chloe says she plans to go to police and her case could be a big deal since it would fall within the statute of limitations. However, the L.A. County District Attorney has rejected the case involving that woman who claimed she was 15 when Cosby sexually molested her at the Playboy Mansion in 1974 due to the statute of limitations.
Could KHLOE KARDASHIAN and LAMAR ODOM be back on again? A source supposedly close to the situation says they are and they hooked up the other night. Khloe recently parted ways with French Montana for the second time and her main issue with Lamar was the drugs. However, he’s been clean for some time now.

JOEY FATONE may have let the cat out of the bag about JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE and JESSICA BIEL expecting their first child! Rumors have been going around for awhile now, but Fatone tells In Touch, "He told me a while ago, and I kept my mouth shut. But now I can talk about it!" He also told People magazine of Justin, "I think he's going to be a great dad. He's always been great with kids in general. He's going to be great. I think he'll be very hands-on." Meanwhile, Justin broke down in tears during his concert last Sunday when a 10-year-old boy gave him a birthday present. It was a bow tie and Justin told him, "Hey man, greatest gift ever, because a gentleman can never have too many bow ties." (See here)

Do you have any naked photos of KELLAN LUTZ’S girlfriend? You will if you pick up the January issue of Playboy magazine! Lutz’s girlfriend, Brittny Ward, is Playboy's Miss January 2015. They’ve been dating since October and Brittny says, "Starting a new year is like hitting the refresh button. I love that this inaugurates a new chapter in my life. Happy New–I wish everyone 365 days of great sex!"
As you might guess, JAMIE DORNAN did some research for his starring role in 50 Shades of Grey and he says that research included visiting a sex dungeon! He tells Elle U.K., "I went there, they offered me a beer, and they did...whatever they were into…I was like, 'Come on guys, I know I'm not paying for this, but I am expecting a show.' It was an interesting evening. Then going back to my wife and newborn baby afterwards...I had a long shower before touching either of them." As for filming the racy scenes he says, "Anyone who thinks actors get turned on doing sex scenes in films is mistaken. There are dozens of hairy men standing around, moving cables and lighting equipment. That's not sexy unless you're into being watched, which I'm not."

The body of Marine veteran Bradley Stone, suspected of fatally stabbing and shooting six relatives and leaving one injured in suburban Philadelphia, was found in a field about 200 yards from his home. The killings have been blamed on a contentious custody battle with his ex-wife. Stone’s two children with his ex reportedly witnessed their mother's killing and were rushed away from her dead body while crying hysterically. Authorities say Stone apparently took his own life by plunging a sword into his stomach.
Taliban gunmen stormed a school in Pakistan yesterday and opened fire, killing at least 141 people, over 130 of them children. The school is a military-run facility in the city of Peshawar near the Afghanistan border. The Taliban said the attack was revenge for the killings of Taliban members by Pakistani authorities.

Google has released its annual Year in Search figures and the most searched person was Jennifer Lawrence. She finished ahead of Kim Kardashian, French actress Julie Gayet, Tracy Morgan and Rene Zellweger. Topping Google’s list of most searched terms of 2014 was Robin Williams. Following Williams’ name were the World Cup, Ebola, Malaysia Airlines and the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

PolitiFact.com has announced the winner of its 2014 "Lie of the Year" award. The trophy goes to potential 2016 presidential candidate Senator Rand Paul and several other politicians for spreading false fears about Ebola. Senator Paul said Ebola was "incredibly contagious" and that it was possible to get it from someone standing just three feet away from you. In reality, Ebola is transmitted through direct contact with bodily fluids. Several members of Congress claimed undocumented immigrants were carrying Ebola across the southern border of the U.S. or posed the risk of doing so. However, experts say that the likelihood of Central Americans bringing the disease, which originated in Africa, was "almost non-existent."

As many suspected, that story of the New York City teenager who said he made $72 million playing the stock market turned out to be a hoax. Mohammad Islam is the president of his school's investment club and now says he only made simulated trades, although he said they were very successful and that returns outperformed the S&P. While the reporter had said they’d seen bank statements to verify the story, Islam now says, "I am incredibly sorry for any misjudgment and any hurt I caused" adding that his dad wanted to disown him and his mom basically said she'd never talk to him after they read the story.

You’re never too old to be embarrassed by your mother! Politically opposite brothers, Brad and Dallas Woodhouse, were battling on their C-SPAN call-in show Washington Journal when they got an unexpected call from their mom. Instantly, one of the brothers said, "Oh God, it's Mom," and put his head in his hands. Mom just wanted to make sure they got the arguing out of their systems before they visited her for Christmas. (See here)
There’s an old expression that goes, “You’re as young as you feel” and it turns out there may be some truth to that. British researchers surveyed about 6,500 adults and found that those who felt younger than their real age lived longer. The average age of those in the survey was about 66 years and most said they felt at least three years younger than their real age. They found that those who felt younger had the least chances of dying over about eight years after they were surveyed. Overall, they found that older-feeling adults were about 40 percent more likely to die than younger-feeling adults. However, they say it’s possible that health conditions and lifestyle choices that the researchers didn't study could explain why feeling old may help predict death. Or it may be that those who feel younger than their real age have "greater resilience, sense of mastery, and will to live." They said more study is needed to be certain.

HE WATERCOOLER 3

Scientists at the University of Grenoble did a study of 114 men aged 18 to 44 and found that those who added the most spicy sauce to their mashed potatoes had the highest levels of testosterone. Researchers say that testosterone leads men into "more stimulating social groups" and inspires them to "take more risks," including indulging in spicy foods. They say it could mean that consumption of spicy foods contributes to increasing testosterone levels, although so far this has only been proven on laboratory rodents.
Just what constitutes cheating? Not surprisingly, it depends on whether you’re a man or a woman. A new poll by Men’s and Women’s Health shows that only 37 percent of men think it’s cheating to have a Tinder account compared to 48 percent of women. While 87 percent of women said sexting was cheating, only 67 percent of the men said it was and when it came to kissing, 85 percent of women said it was a sign of being unfaithful, while only 78 percent of men agreed.

You may have seen the movie Escape from Alcatraz. It was based on the true story of three men who pulled off a daring escape from San Francisco's Alcatraz Island prison in 1962. It’s widely assumed that they died in the icy waters of San Francisco Bay, but their bodies were never found. Now Dutch scientists have released a study based on interactive models that say the escapees may have survived had they made their break at just the right time. The inmates built a raft using 50 raincoats and used hand-made wooden paddles to attempt to row ashore. Researchers say if they left between 11pm and midnight and paddled directly northwards with a speed of almost 1 km per hour, which is an almost Olympian effort, then they could have reached the north side of the Golden Gate Bridge. The escapees would be in their 80s now, so it’s possible they’re still alive.

UH…

Oklahoma’s Lenden Woodruff was recently arrested for DUI. What makes this unusual is that it was Lenden’s third DUI arrest. What makes it more unusual is that Lenden attempted to drive away, hitting the citizen that had stopped him before police arrived. More unusual still is that Lenden is the chief of police of the town of Colcord, who somehow managed to keep his job after the first two busts.

Omaha’s 57-year-old Richard Curzon was pulled over Monday night after police spotted him driving on four flat tires and with a deployed airbag. After a low speed chase, Curzon was finally stopped and taken into custody after being Tasered and testing at over three times over the limit. In addition to his fourth DUI, he was charged with felony driving during revocation, felony flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, leaving the scene of a property-damage accident, bail review, open container and possession of drug paraphernalia.

In La Crosse, Wisconsin, police found Kong P. Vue's vehicle blocking traffic shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday. Kong told police he'd had a beer downtown and his axle broke. It was soon determined that he’d hit a nearby pole and Kong complained of neck pain and moved his arms up and down saying he couldn't move them. During field sobriety tests, which he failed, Kong attempted to recite the alphabet, saying "A-B-C-D-E-F-G-H-I-G-K -- I'm gonna kill all y'all."
If you look on Santa’s ‘naughty’ list this year you’re bound to find a certain traffic warden in Leicestershire, England. It seems that this traffic warden spotted Santa’s sleigh illegally stopped in a no parking zone for 30 seconds while one of his helpers was collecting for charity. The fine will cost Santa about $50 if he pays it within 14 days or around $100 after that. Helper Chris Uttley says he spoke to Santa, who was absolutely shocked and said the warden should be put on the naughty list and get a lump of coal for Christmas.

Somebody didn’t do their homework at Franklin, Virginia’s S.P. Morton Elementary School. That someone was the person who hired Elizabeth Ferguson as a first grade teacher before her background check was completed. After the check was completed they found that Elizabeth was indicted on two felony charges of heroin distribution. Ferguson was suspended with pay until Monday morning, which is when she officially resigned.

An unnamed man in China wanted to get some fresh air, so he opened a door. While this might normally be a sensible thing to do, it’s not when you’re aboard an airliner preparing to take off. The passenger aboard the Xiamen Air flight from Hangzhou to Chengdu became the star of numerous social media photos. However, the airline’s maintenance team fixed the door and the flight took off on time. The airline also said it wouldn’t punish the passenger as he hadn’t meant any harm and it was his first airplane trip.

China’s Ting Su suspected her husband and twin sister were cheating on her and used a mobile phone tracker to trace them to a shopping center parking lot. She got an even bigger surprise when she found her husband Cheng completely naked in a car with her sister. The startled cheaters jumped out of the car and Ting seized the opportunity to jump in and drive off, leaving them naked and stranded. One witness said, ‘It was so funny. Loads of people were grabbing their phones and I did as well.’ Ting has filed for divorce.
