SELECTED SERVICE TO NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS

Chair, Publications Board, North American Society for Sport History (2013-present). The elected board oversees publication of the Journal of Sport History and is responsible for the selection and supervision of the Editor in Chief of the Journal and other positions including the associate editor, the advertising editor, and the scholarly directory editor. Additionally the Board determines the publisher of the Journal. Chair is elected by the board members.
Member, Executive Council, North American Society for Sport History (2013-present). As chair of Publications Board, I sit on the Executive Council which supervises and oversees the financial, organizational, and structural needs of the organization.
Member, Book Award Committee, North American Society for Sport History (2012-14). Members are selected by the association president to honor the best monograph and anthology on the topic of sport history published in the previous calendar year.
Co-Host and Treasurer, North American Society for Sport History (2013-14). I helped host and organize the May 2014 conference in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. I was responsible for all registrations and all financial issues.
Member at Large, Executive Council, North American Society for Sport History (2011-13). The elected board supervises and oversees the financial, organizational, and structural needs of the organization.

Board of Directors, Forum for the Scholarly Study of Intercollegiate Athletics in Higher Education (2010-13). The Board was responsible for furthering the purposes of the Forum and supporting its projects, including the scholarly colloquium, a scholarly journal, and all other matters that came under its purview. Board members served on the editorial board of the Journal of Intercollegiate Sport, accepted roles as officers and committee members, attended the annual meeting, and carried on all requisite correspondence. The Board and the Journal were supported by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

Chair, Nominations Committee: North American Society for Sport History (2008). This elected committee solicits individuals to stand for election. The chair contacts nominees, collects materials, counts votes, and distributes results.

Distinguished Lectures and Honors Award Committee: North American Society for Sport History (2007-09). I was a presidential appointment to this committee which selects the invited speakers for the annual conference and names the honor awardees.
Nominations Committee: North American Society for Sport History (2006). This committee solicits individuals to stand for election.
