Litany Bring the Message Leader: We have a message to share with the world.
GEMS: It’s Jesus! He is the Good News!
Congregation: God sent Jesus to the world to share the message that whoever
believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
Leader: When we’ve been changed by His message –when we join God’s family
–His love compels us to share the good news of Jesus with others.

GEMS: God’s messengers talk about Jesus with as many people as they can.

Today is GEMS Sunday! The girls who greeted you and who are sharing today in the service all participate in the GEMS Girls Club sponsored by this congregation. We thank God for all the girls who participate in GEMS, for the women who lead and mentor the girls and for the joy and service they bring to our community.
Next Sunday Pastor Bob Pollema from Sioux Center will lead our worship services.
Everyone is invited to stay for coffee fellowship following the morning service.

Lee & Elaine’s children will be serving cake and coffee after church, April 19th for their parents’ 50th anniversary. They are planning on serving a meal to relatives and any church members that would like to stay. The open house is set for 1:00 – 3:00 pm.

Pray for the family and relatives of Louie Dekkenga of Ocheyedan who died Tuesday. The funeral was Saturday in the Ocheyedan CRC. Pray for God's nearness and comfort.

Annual Society Meeting at Unity Christian High School: Please mark your calendars to join us on Tuesday, April 21 at 7:00 in the Knight Center. This meeting will include approving the 2015-16 budget, a foundation report, election of new board members, and annual update of the school. Young mothers, join us at Mothers Together on Wednesday, April 22, at 9:00 a.m. at First Reformed Church as we welcome spring. We plan to put together our birthday kits so remember your donations for this service project and then we will tour Echter’s Greenhouse to get ideas for our gardens and flowerbeds. Child care provided. Join us for a time of learning and friendship.
Dordt College theatre presents Ash Girl, a fantastical and chillingly beautiful retelling of the classic Cinderella tale as you’ve never seen it before. Performances will be held in the Te Paske Theatre in the Sioux Center High School on April 22, 23, 24, and 25, at 7:30 p.m. A matinee will be held April 25 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at www.dordttickets.com. Recommended viewing age is 12 and up.
Dordt College’s annual Ag Day will be held Friday, April 24. This free event is held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the main parking lot, just north of the Dordt College Campus Center. Pulled pork will be served by members of the Ag Club between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. as a fundraiser for the club’s activities.
Back by popular demand, the highly acclaimed southern gospel singing group, the Inspirations from Bryson City, North Carolina will be presenting a benefit concert on Saturday evening, April 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the B.J. Haan Auditorium on the campus of Dordt College. The Inspirations have been performing since 1964 and they have received every honor and award that southern gospel music has to offer. The concert will also feature the Journey Bound Quartet of Des Moines, IA and the Triumphant Sound Quartet from Lawton, IA. Tickets will be $15.00 per person and sold at the door only. The doors will open at 5:00 p.m. All proceeds of the concert will benefit the local and global ministries of Hope Haven. Mark your calendars now for Saturday evening April 25 for an evening of great southern gospel music beginning at 6:30 p.m. sharp!
ADVANCE ANNOUNCEMENTSOn April 29, the students and staff of Unity Christian High School are launching their first ever Creation Caretaker Clean-a-thon! We are excited to clean over 50 miles of Sioux County roadways. Our fundraising goal is set at $35,000. Raised funds will be used for our annual budget. We are asking students to seek sponsors for this Clean-a-Thon from families, friends and church members. Donors are welcome to give to this cause, either through a student, or through a direct donation to the school.

The Northwest Iowa Bible League Spring Salad Luncheon will be held on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Trinity CRC, Rock Valley, Iowa. The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. with a program to follow at 1 p.m. Our speaker for the afternoon will be John Scafe, National Director of the Bible League Mission Thrift Store. Come join us for a lovely lunch and an inspirational afternoon.
Friends of Unity are invited to the Mother/Daughter Banquet on Wednesday, May 6. Punch will be served at 6:30 with the catered meal to follow at 7:00. Lisa Laird will be the guest speaker. The cost of the ticket will be $11 per person to be paid that evening. Sixth grade girls and older are invited. The Junior and Senior girls are encouraged to wear their banquet dresses.
