I would like details of the number of vehicles recorded exceeding the 60mph speed limit on the Orwell Bridge between 1 September 2016 and 30 September 2016.

I would like to know the number of vehicles that were recorded as exceeding the limit by the average speed cameras – and whose drivers were contacted as a result.

I would like to know how many of these resulted in:

a Drivers taking speed awareness courses .

b Drivers issued with a fixed penalty notice resulting in points on their licence.

I would also like to know the fastest speed recorded on the bridge during September that resulted in police action (ie disregarding emergency vehicles legitimately exceeding the limit).

I would also like updated figures on fixed penalties/speed awareness courses from the 3,020 drivers caught speeding in July and August.

SECTION 12

Would you please provide information on the numbers of hate crimes recorded by Suffolk broken down by race and ethnicity since 2000. If data is not available since 2000, please provide data that cover period that is as long as possible. That is, if data is not available since 2000, please provide data since 2001. If data is not available since 2001, please provide data since 2002.

Would you please provide this information broken down by day and full crime date – DD/MM/YYYY? If data is not available broken down by day and full crime date, please provide data broken down by week. If data is not available broken down by week, please provide data broken down by calendar month. Is there any fee for this information?

I truly understand the concern regarding the risk of identification of a victim. I strongly agree that an analysis of data shouldn’t reveal the identity of the victim because that would violate confidentiality and lead to a potential harm of the subjects. The project that I am working on focuses on changes in hate crime over time, including the changes in hate crime in the wake of Brexit. Having said that, if I decide to include in my research only months (and not days, or even weeks), most likely I will not have enough data points for the analysis. I would be happy to obtain any documents from my University that could help to facilitate this process and, most importantly, to ensure confidentiality of data.

Please send me this information by email.

How many police vehicles, excluding those on blue light, drive up and down Southgate Street Bury St Edmunds per day on average?

The lower part of the street is single yellow line one side and double yellow line the other. On average, when I drive along there, there are 3 illegally parked cars, but I have seen three times that, but none have a penalty notice on them.

2. In each case where an investigation into a reported crime has been closed within 24 hours, please could you state what the type of reported crime was and the result of the investigation.

I would be grateful if you could confirm in writing that you have received this request, and I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

on 30 September the Ipswich Star reported 3000 motorists had been caught speeding on the Orwell Bridge.
Under FOI, please can you explain how the average speed cameras work?
1) Please clarify how the average speed is calculated. Is the fine assessed on either:
a) a single mean average speed result taken between the first and last camera in that section. ie. a single measurement. So, as an example, if a motorist's speed is at 58mph from camera 1-6, but between camera 6 to 7 it was 65mph, then the average overall may be just 60mph and is therefore within limits.
Or,
b) is a multiple of mean averages taken for each and every set of cameras in the half mile total section ?
In other words if your average speed measured 60mph at each and every camera interval between camera 1-6, but a motorist drove at 70mph between camera 6-7 they will be subjected to a fine based on the exceeding the average recorded between each and every set (ie. a multiple of average measures).
2) If fines are assessed on b) (the average speed is taken at each an every set), then please can you confirm the number of incidents per camera (of 3000 incidents, how were recorded by which camera in the chain). ie which camera or zone on the complete Orwell Bridge 60mph zone most commonly captures motorists exceeding ?

The reason that I ask this question is because I have found that on the eastbound route a large number of drivers speed up once they have cleared the bridge and before the Europark junction 57. This is because it is not immediately clear to them that the average zone has NOT yet ended and 60mph is still applicable. Many speed up to 70mph in good faith thinking that they have cleared the 60mph zone. So, if the average is based on this final set of cameras then many may inadvertently speeded.

Suffolk Police's FoI disclosure log, supposedly giving crime statistics, appears to hold no data on any crime statistics at all. I suspect this may be a problem with the website. Could you please provide me with the monthly statistics for hate crime reports to Suffolk Police for the past 12 months. Please break these down into racially or religiously motivated hate crime and others such as homophobia and disability related hate crime.
Thank you for this swift response. I'm impressed. I look forward to receiving the information. Just to clarify: the 12 month period I'm interested in is from September 2015 to September 2016. I am interested to see if there has been a rise since the EU referendum vote in June.

I am hoping to write a dissertation on the role of coerced labour in East Anglian agriculture. I have viewed your crime statistics and there is no specific category for coerced labour. I was wondering if it would be at all possible to access this data. I understand the confidential nature of such material but I am only looking for some basic information on where and when these instances occurred, and possibly the number of victims involved and size of the organisations participating. I am looking to conduct a largely quantitative study so any sensitive information is unnecessary. I would be extremely grateful for any help, as I hope my research will provide some insight into why this issue that is relatively incumbent to the region.
