Join us as we launch our summer programs with a fun presentation by Mad Science. Sign up for summer programs, do some crafts and pick up your summer reading club materials. We are going to play all summer.


FRENCH STORYTIME

ROBOT SUMO

Two robots enter, only one leaves. Children and teens, ages 10 to 18, are invited to join our friends from Hackforge to build a champion Sumo Robot using real world techniques. Registration required; call extension 4434.

DUPLO LEGO STORYTIME

Mondays, July 13 to August 17 (except August 3)

Play with words at our active summer story time featuring great stories, Duplo Lego, parachute games, crafts and other activities. Ages 3 to 7.


CHILDREN’S CHESS CLUB

Tuesdays and Wednesdays, July 14 to August 19

1:00 - 4:00 pm

Children will meet to play chess and other board games. This is for beginners to intermediate players. Teen volunteer instructors will be available to teach anyone who needs help. Our 2 tier chess tournament will be held on Wednesday, August 19. Ages 4 to 12.



LIBRARY LIVE SUMMER P.L.A.Y. CLUB

Tuesdays, July 14 to August 18

2:00 - 4:00 pm

Tuesday afternoons are for kids who love to laugh as they paint works of art or act out small scenes based on our favourite books. Our club at the library is having our annual summer reading challenge. Ages 4 to 12.


LIBRARY LIVE SCAVENGER HUNT

TOUR OF THE UNIVERSE

The Ontario Planetariums’s mobile dome will be landing at the library. There will be seven, 20 minute shows throughout the day. Be prepared to sit on the floor for viewing. Registration required. All ages.

We are celebrating Harry Potter’s birthday by pretending to live in the Harry Potter world for two days. You can dress up as your favourite character and join us for art, crafts, games and activities. If you don't have a costume, make one using our supplies. Ages 4 to 12.
