The princess and the soldier


A king has a very beautiful daughter.

有 一 个 国 王。 他 有 一 个 很 美 的 女 儿。

The princess is very proud and arrogant.

这 个 公 主 很 骄 傲, 自 大。

She knows that she is beautiful.

他 知 道 自 己 很 美。

The king wants his daughter to marry.

国 王 要 他 的 女 儿 结 婚。

The princess does not like anyone.

但 是 公 主 谁 都 不 喜 欢。

One day a soldier sees the princess and he falls in love with her.

有 一 天, 一 个 士 兵 看 见 了 公 主 , 就 爱 上 了 他。

He asks her to marry him.

他 跟 她 求 婚。

The princess says: “If you wait 40 days and 40 nights under my window, and look up

公 主 说 :如 果 你 在 我 的 窗 户 下 等 我,看 着 我 四 十 at me, then I will marry you”

.天 四 十 夜,我 就 嫁 给 你。

So the soldier waits under the window.

所 以,这 个 士 兵 就 在 窗 户 下 等 着 她。

He waits there in the heat and the cold.

他 不 管 炎 热 或 寒 冷 都 站 在 那 儿 等。

He waits there in the rain and the snow.

He waits there for thirty nine days and thirty-nine nights.

他 等 了 三 十 九 天 又 三 十 九 晚。

On the fortieth day ………..
