The Talbot Hotel an old Coaching Inn parts of which date from the 15th C, is to be found at the centre of the town and stands on the 'Iron Cross' on the corner of West Street and South Street.
The Hotel has been considerably extended over the years by the addition of what was once a saddler's shop, a grocer's by the name of 'Saxby', a pub known as 'The Vaults' and J. Welsch, a small Ladies and Gents tailors.
Experience the history of a traditional 15th Century Tudor Inn, solid oak beams, wood panelling & a roaring log fire in season. The only Hotel in the town centre, with our own parking and only 10 minute walk away from the railway station. The Tudor Banqueting Suite can accommodate up to 130 guests for a seated meal but, can be partitioned into smaller rooms to suit your requirements.
The Tudor Suite (one of the oldest parts of the hotel) is an “L” shaped room with oak beams and polished wood flooring ideal for dancing and can easily accommodate a live band and / or disco, according to your requirements it has its own private bar facilities and staff dedicated for your special day.
Weddings are a speciality of the Talbot Hotel whether it be a small intimate gathering or a large celebration and can be tailor-made to suit your own requirements. It is possible to reserve the Tudor Room for the day period until 5.30 pm or for the whole of the day and evening, when booking the Tudor banqueting room following a day reception there is no room charge providing the Talbot serves evening refreshments similar to the finger buffet menu enclosed should a customer self cater an evening room hire of £295.00 is applied. To simplify the cost of your wedding while giving you the flexibility to personalise your day we have created three wedding packages to cater for different tastes and budgets and further options to upgrade your choice to personalise your day at competitive prices.

BOOKING PROCEDURE AND CONFIRMATION
An Initial deposit is required to secure the date of your Wedding Reception this will be 25% of the anticipated charge this is totally NON REFUNDABLE. Staged payments can be made as per your convenience However we would expect total anticipated payment at least 2 weeks prior to the event. Any additional charges incurred MUST be paid prior to departure.
Under no circumstances will the initial deposit be refunded.
Staged payments may be refunded with notification up to 1 calendar month prior to the event.
Final numbers for catering and charging must be supplied at least 5 days prior to the wedding day.
