Účelem tohoto dokumentu je průběžně informovat české podnikatelské subjekty o připravovaných obchodních příležitostech v oblasti stavebnictví s delším časovým předstihem než je vydán příslušný tendr. Vzhledem ke krátkosti času na předložení tendrové nabídky je potřebné se na avizované velké tendry dlouhodoběji připravovat na roli kontraktora či subkontraktora. Tento dokument je průběžně doplňován o informace získané z jednání v GB, z odborného tisku a z dalších zdrojů. V první části dokumentu naleznete informace obecné. Ve druhé části jsou informace o konkrétních tendrech a dalších obchodních příležitostech. Nejnovější informace (proti předchozí verzi) jsou na začátku každé části tohoto dokumentu a navíc zvýrazněny červenou barvou.
Jsme přesvědčeni, že dokument doplňovaný za delší časové období podá cenný obraz o chronologickém vývoji některých zásadních projektů vyvíjejících se často i několik let. Znalost celého vývoje je často důležitá pro tvorbu obchodní strategie a tvorbu samotných nabídek.

Crossrail – Station Building

The construction company Laing O´Rourke has won a third station redevelopment contract for the Crossrail project. This station is the Custom House and the contract is worth GBP 35 million and goes with the Tottenham Court Road (GBP200 million) and Liverpool Street (GBP300 million) developments they won earlier in the year. The new station will include a ticket hall, interchange with the Dockland Light Railway and stepfree access between the platform and the street. The work is due to start in Spring 2013. The City University seeks Expressions of Interest from Architects and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health) Services Engineers for the new Education building to be constructed on its Sebastian Street site in London. The new facility will house functions to support world class academic study and research and should be operationally complete by Autumn/Winter 2017. Expressions of Interest will be considered from separate or multi-disciplinary companies, which can demonstrate a track record of working with named other firms where both Architecture and Services Engineering were successfully integrated to create facilities with excellent energy, environmental and sustainable credentials. Office Complex London

Crossrail Station Bidders

Crossrail have issued a notice that they will be putting back the bidding process for the Bond Street Crossrail section (C 412) until later in 2012 with the work expected to be awarded in early 2013. This part of the package, which is worth GBP200 million will be largely the station fit out. The first part of the Bond Street package (C411) which was awarded to a Costain Skanska joint venture includes excavating the site and other civil engineering work. Broadgate Tower Construction

The construction company Mace is expected to start work on the GBP 340 million at Number 5 Broadgate (City of London) in April 2012. The 700,000 sq foot development has been held up for a year but the final planned completion date in the autumn/winter of 2014 is expected to be met. The construction company Mace uses the Achilles pre-qualification service for direct sub-contractors and suppliers.

Hinkley Point Nuclear Power Station

The electricity company EDF has confirmed that it wishes to start on the preparatory phase of work on the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station site as soon as possible. It has given this phase of the work to the Kier/Bam Nuttall joint venture. These works will include the fencing, drainage and excavation of the site. The next phase of earthworks has been given to the American company URS and the Kier/Bam Nuttall JV. The main works, worth GBP 1 billion, are currently out to tender with three Joint Ventures bidding:


  • Balfour Beatty/Vinci

  • Costain/Sir Robert McAlpine

  • Laing O´Rourke/Bouygues

It is thought that the winner will be announced in a few weeks time. At present two types of reactors have been given draft approval but there are still some issues to be sorted out.

Hitachi and Merchant Place Developments will be holding an open day in June 2012 for subcontractors and suppliers interested in undertaking work on their new train manufacturing facility in County Durham. Medical Research Centre Building

London Bridge Station Project

The construction company Costain has won a GBP 400 million project to design and deliver the project which will include a new concourse and two new entrances. It is expected that the capacity of the station will increase from 50 million to 75 million people. Costain also won a GBP 80 million project for Reading station.

Refurbishment of Swimming Pool

New Hospital Swansea

BAM Construction has been chosen to build the latest extension, worth GBP 60 million, to Swansea hospital. Key improvements to hospital buildings will include the replacement of the 1940s buildings on the Morriston site. A critical part of the new development will be the new Outpatients Department, incorporating space on both the ground and first floors of the new build, totaling nearly 3,400 sq m. The project will start in December 2011 and expects to be completed by 2013. Glasgow Art School

Sir Robert McAlpine has been selected to build the new extension to the Glasgow Art School. The building will be 5 floors and will boast a central circulation space with three, full-height, reinforced-concrete, circular light shafts that form the structural –backbone— to the building.

New Casino and leisure Complex

The construction firm Galliford Try has been chosen to build a new GBP80 million casino and leisure complex at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. The building work will include a casino, a new four star hotel and suites, a spa, a conference and banqueting centre, a retail outlet centre, a multiscreen cinema complex, food and drinks outlets and carparking facilities. Sports Arena Construction

Rail Level Crossings – possible supplies
