You will write three leads of your own based off of popular fairy tales. You may choose any one fairy tale of your liking (Cinderella, The Three Little Pigs, Goldilocks, Snow White, etc…)

Pick three separate leads that we discussed in class. What is not completed today will be due for tomorrow for homework. There is an alternative lead handout on the website if you need refresh your memory.
Here are three examples from the Princess and the Pea:

For those of you not familiar with the tale, here is a brief summary of the story.

The story tells of a prince who wants to marry a princess, but is having difficulty finding a suitable wife. Something is always wrong with those he meets, and he cannot be certain they are real princesses. One stormy night a young woman drenched with rain seeks shelter in the prince’s castle. She claims to be a princess, so the prince’s mother decides to test their unexpected guest by placing a pea in the bed she is offered for the night, covered by 20 mattresses and 20 featherbeds. In the morning the guest tells her host that she endured a sleepless night, kept awake by something hard in the bed; which she is certain has bruised her. The prince rejoices. Only a real princess would have the sensitivity to feel a pea through such a quantity of bedding. The two are married, and the pea is placed in the Royal Museum.

Lead #1

How sensitive is a princess’ skin?

Apparently, it can feel a small pea through 20 featherbeds and 20 mattresses.

Lead #2

Prince William spent four long years searching for a princess to marry with no success.

Little did he know that a princess would stumble upon his doorstep during a rainy September night.

Lead #3

Kate was a wreck. She was exhausted after wandering for hours in a down pouring rain. It did not matter that she was atop 20 mattresses and 20 featherbeds. She could not get comfortable enough to sleep. Her back ached. It felt like needle was poking her. She did not suspect that the source of all her pain was a lonely pea.
