Dealing with the public and customer service is a really big part of this job as you need to have patience with the young children when they are anxious or afraid whilst on the activities. Also being able to communicate with customers at all levels and have a friendly, positive attitude towards them to make them feel happy with their visit. Working with the public also involves conflict management, whether it is managing conflict between two customers, or dealing with a customer’s aggression towards me.

There’s a lot of responsibilities as a waitress/bar maid things such as being able to use a till to take a person’s order efficiently whilst at the same time communicating with the customer and showing your best customer service and making them feel happy and welcomed into the pub so they will want to return. Other skills also include bar skills, organisation skills, making deserts and cleaning down areas ready for a close down.

My role at the bluebell is as a member of bar staff, as part of a busy pub to make a good atmosphere for the customers and also have a knowledge of the different beers available to them. Also this job requires me to be able to take the necessary steps to clearing the bar ready for closing at the end of the night. Other skills at the blue bell also include taking a food order, team work and following rules and regulations.

1st Tanworth in Arden Rainbows

Young Leader

A volunteer post of 8 months, my main duties were to support children between the ages of 5 and 7, as they attend Rainbows. Additional duties included organising activities and evening events.

Cheswick Green Youth Club


This role was a natural progression from the previous position and I continued for another 18 months until the closure of the Youth Club. My role was to supervise and support younger children between the ages of 9 and 11. Additional responsibilities including running group activities, collecting fees and monitoring behaviour.

Ackers adventure January 2017

I took part in work experience over a week period at ackers adventure taking part in maintenance through the grounds, such as organising ski equipment and helping staff to fix the climbing wall. Also I took part in supporting a group in orienteering and learning practical things such as skiing and canoeing. Over the week I developed my knowledge of outdoor activities as well as developing relationships with those I was working with.
